‘On the pitch, all the moments that we have shared with teammates, staff, managers. When I see my first time here at the Bridge and I had the introduction to the fans, and the last game is quite the journey. I couldn’t imagine to be the captain of this football club. I feel like I gave everything. I love it.
‘When I arrived, I arrived to Champions League winners. The dressing room was full of club legends, football legends. I knew that I had to work for my place.
’For me, it’s very important to go in good terms with the club, with the new ownership. I’m grateful for them, for having honest conversation and for showing my the respect. Chelsea is my home. It always will be.
‘Hopefully I can come back one day here to say a proper goodbye to all of you. Keep supporting the team, the club that you love. You are the soul of the club. Keep going. I love you all.’
Poch wants Dybala –
It has been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino has asked the board to bring Paolo Dybala to Chelsea
CHELSEA had one their worst seasons in recent memory and even finished in the bottom half of the table as they simply could not get the wins that fans expected to see.
And that has led to constant speculation in the media that Dybala is a player that the club are seriously interested in.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport are reporting that Chelsea could make a swoop for Dybala.
Pochettino feels Dybala would be the ideal accompaniment to bring additional firepower to his attack and is keen for Chelsea to explore a deal.
Although the Argentina international would command a big salary, a release clause in his contract with Roma means clubs outside of Serie A can sign him for just €12m (£10m).
WOULD DYBALA BE GOOD SIGNING?
A few seasons ago, Dybala was one of the best attacking players in the world – and would have been a massive signing for CHELSEA – but that is no longer the case.
He is not really a player that will have the quality to adapt to the Premier League and Chelsea are better off trying to sign stars that are already proven in the English game.
So even if Pochettino wants him at the club – it may not be the move that gets CHELSEA back to the top and challenging.
But we guess he may add something to that Blues attack, as he is a man that has played at the top of the game for a number of seasons.
It would be interesting to see if he could adapt to the Premier League that is for sure
Boehly on Azpilicueta news –
CHELSEA have confirmed Cesar Azpilicueta’s departure from the club following his trophy-laden eleven years.
Azpilicueta has been at the club for a number of years now – has won countless trophies including the Champions League and Premier League – and is a big member of that squad.
However – during the last summer transfer window there was alot of speculation in the media that he wanted to leave the club – that he felt his time was up at Stamford Bride and a move to Spain was on the cards.
Barcelona were looking to add him to the squad – they were looking to add some experience to the back-line and reportedly believed that he would be a good addition to the squad.
However, despite all the speculation and despite all the rumours – in the end Azpilicueta stayed at Stamford Bridge to try and help the club get into the Champions League and win some more trophies.
But his time at Chelsea is now and the Blues have released a statement confirming that the Spaniard has departed the club.
WHAT HAS BOEHLY SAID –
“Cesar leaves an everlasting mark at Chelsea, as a warrior, as a champion, and as loyal Chelsea legend.
“He has set the standards at the club for more than a decade and demonstrated to everyone what is required day in, day out to achieve success.
“Coaches and teammates past and present have trusted him to lead by example as captain.
“He has done so immaculately on and off the pitch, something for which we are grateful. For that and so much more, Cesar will always be welcomed back at Stamford Bridge.”
