Boss confirms Arsenal trying to sign £30m man, Arsenal close to announcing midfielder deal and big news as Arsenal target to leave French giants
Arsenal close to Odegaard deal, Aouar to leave Lyon and Arsenal interested in Ramsdale in top Arsenal news…
The big news coming out of France is that Arsenal target Houssem Aouar could be set to leave Lyon before the window closes.
It is no secret that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is a massive fan of Aouar and wanted the board to sanction a transfer move either in the summer, or the January window, to get a transfer deal done.
Lyon wanted £55million for his signature in the summer, a fee that was more than what Arsenal paid to release Thomas Partey from his Atletico Madrid deal, and with Covid hitting the club in the inter window, they did not intend to pay that fee in January either.
However, there has been alot of rumours over the past few months that Aouar wants to leave the French club this summer and with his contract running down, reports have claimed that he could be worth just £17 million this summer
As per RMC Sport, the Frenchman is among multiple players that could be shown the exit door as director of sport Juninho looks to resolve an attitude problem in the dressing room.
Amid the speculation Arsenal have been given the green light to try and get a transfer deal done after Lyon boss Peter Bosz recently opened up and admitted that the tricky Frenchman can leave this summer if a big offer comes in
“Aouar? He can leave, this is modern football. Up until the last moment, he can leave,” Bosz told French outlet butfootball.fr.
Look, this is the type of player that Arsenal need to be signing in the transfer windows to get back in that hunt for the Premier League title, so if the reports are true and they could get him for a bargain they should make a move.
He will move to a big club, so Arsenal should get a deal done now before they simply cannot afford the lad.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but Arsenal would be massive fools to not even make a move for the player
Arsenal closing in on the signing of Martin Odegaard for a fee in the region of €35m
Odegaard was a player that made a big impact with the Arsenal fans last season when he made the shock decision to leave Madrid on loan and get some game time at the Premier League giants until the end of the season.
Mikel Arteta made no secret that he wanted to keep hold of Odegaard at the start of the transfer window, but it seemed that he wanted to head back to Madrid and prove himself in that Real side.
However, despite all the reports that he wanted to stay, according to reports in Spain, Odegaard has chosen to leave the La Liga giants who are now willing to sell him and a deal could be completed in the ‘next few hours/days
The Athletic have suggested that a deal is ‘close’ and that Odegaard missed Real Madrid training on Tuesday ahead of a possible transfer.
Amid the speculation Italian expert Fabrizio Romano has opened up and suggested that Arsenal are in deep talks with Madrid about a deal for Odegaard, but they are just struggling to agree a fee with the Spanish giants
He claims: “Odegaard has chances to leave the club, and now Arsenal are negotiating with Real Madrid to understand if they can agree on the fee for the Norwegian midfielder to come back at Arsenal, but no longer on loan – [it would now] be a permanent deal.
“They are working on Odegaard now as one of their priorities.
“So Odegaard can leave Real Madrid to join Arsenal in the final two weeks of the transfer market.”
He has proven himself in the Premier League, so if the reports are true, surely Arsenal fans would be delighted to see him make that move back to the Emirates. So many fans will be hoping that the board can agree that fee, which is around the £35 million mark
Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic says Arsenal remain keen on England goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale.
Arsenal are reportedly readying a £30 million ($42m) swoop for Ramsdale, with head coach Mikel Arteta eager to bolster his goalkeeping department after seeing Mat Ryan return to Brighton following a loan spell at Emirates Stadium.
Bend Leno is the number one right now at the club and has no real competition for that place, but if he gets injured, the Gunners have no real quality to replace the German between the sticks
Ramsdale has firmly established himself as Sheffield United’s No 1 goalkeeper, and despite being powerless to prevent another relegation last season he earned a place in Gareth Southgate’s England set-up for the European Championships
Now, amid the speculation, Jokanovic says Arsenal remain keen on England goalkeeper, although he has also admitted that he would be very sad to see the stoppper leave this transfer window
Jokanovic said: “He is a talented English player and I understand Arsenal are interested, but this is the business.
“If he is one of the best players in the league, his price is high and it’s up to Arsenal if they want him. They need to spend a lot of money.
“I will be disappointed [if he leaves] but it’s part of the realistic situation. Arsenal are pushing from one side and I am pulling from a different side.”
Look, it has been interesting to see what type of players that have been linked with Arsenal this summer and we are shocked to see that they are prepared to pay so much money for Ramsdale
But it will be interesting to see how this all plays out over the next couple of weeks as £30 million is alot to pay for a back-up stopper that will probably be on the bench alot next season
