Boss delighted with CONFIRMED Arsenal deal – Brazilian free to join Gunners – FREE Arsenal target eyes Prem move

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip that we think you guys could have miss today –

Sligo Rovers boss John Russell has revealed that he is delighted that midfielder Jack Henry-Francis has joined on loan from Arsenal.

The 20-year-old has been at Arsenal since the age of 12, having made the move from Fulham.

The defensive midfielder is yet to make an appearance for Arsenal’s senior team, and heads to Rovers hoping to get some senior experience and maybe get a chance in that Gunners side in the future.

Speaking about the move, Sligo Rovers boss John Russell says he feels he has found a player who will easily fit into his plans for the team between now and the end of the year.

“I am delighted to bring Jack to the Showgrounds”, he says.

“He is a tenacious midfielder who plays the game with real energy and aggression. It’s important now that we continue to add real quality to the group and Jack fits that profile. We are all excited to get to work with him and I know he’s looking forward to making an impact between now and the end of the season.”

The player himself said: “I’m looking to get some exposure to first-team football really and when I get the chance, I want to put in some really good performances”, he says.

“I think I can do that here. I’ve spoken a lot to John and about his plans for me and the squad for the rest of the year and it’s been very exciting. I know a fair bit about the league and have watched a fair bit of it since I knew I’d be moving over. There seems to be a lot of togetherness in the team and a lot of fight along with some really good technical players.”

“It’s always a great experience being with ARSENAL’s first-team as it’s always intense as there are a lot of demands, but I feel that will stand to me at Rovers. The trip to Scotland was incredible as you were playing alongside players with lots of Premier League and international experience. The last few years, the level I’ve trained at has really made me play up a level as you’re training with players who are chasing Premier League titles.”

RAPHINHA CAN JOIN –

Barcelona are still reportedly willing to let Arsenal target Raphinha leave if they can sign Spanish star Nico Williams

During his time with Barcelona – Raphinha established himself as one of the most dangerous wingers in the Premier League and a man that was destined to play at the very highest level of the game.

Several European clubs have been closely monitoring the 27-year-old’s performances and after his recent success, a Premier League club submitted a €60 million bid for the player, according to recent reports.

Fichajes.net recently claimed Al Nassr, ARSENAL and Chelsea are the three big clubs that are competing for the signing of Raphinha, with the Gunners leading the race for the Brazilian star.

Now, Mundo Deportivo claims while Barca value Raphinha a lot, they may sacrifice him for Williams , if they can lure the Spaniard to the Camp Nou

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident the club can afford his release clause €60million (£51m) – Speaking to Catalunya Radio, Laporta said: “Economically speaking, we could commit to the signing of Nico Williams.

“Nico’s a player I like, I like him a lot. We are working with [coach Hansi] Flick on possible signings. Now we have to leave [sporting director] Deco to close the operations we are working on.

“Shortly we will be able to announce some good news with regard to the financial [issues] and we will be back within La Liga’s Fair Play limits. And that will allow further good news in terms of [signings].”

Look, there will be alot of rumours over the next few months about the future of Raphinha and to be honest – he probably will leave Barcelona. But is he the type of player that the board like to buy?

ROBERTO EYES PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE –

Long-standing Arsenal target Sergi Roberto is reportedly now interested in making a move to the Premier League

Roberto has spent all of his footballing career at Barcelona and was hoping that a new deal was on the horizon after holding down a regular space in the side under former boss Xavi last season.

Barcelona sporting director Deco had told Roberto the club was counting on him for next season and set a deadline of August 10 for a renewal offer to be made. However, Roberto has not returned to the club for the start of pre-season training under new manager Hansi Flick and is now willing to listen to offers.

Roberto has now decided he is unwilling to wait any longer for Barcelona to make an offer and is considering an offer from a Premier League side, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The news will alert the likes of Chelsea, ARSENAL and Manchester United, who has all been linked with a move for the Spaniard and would be very interested in signing him on a free deal.

This rumour has come out of nowhere and to be honest – it will put alot of clubs on alert for the versatile star – who could offer any Premier League outfit some much needed experience and quality.

Barcelona still have time to give him a new contract – but it seems that if ARSENAL make the right offer – if they are still interested in a potential deal for the star – then he could make the move to the Premier League.

However – at this stage of his career – maybe it is not the best thing for him as Roberto if not the player he was just a few seasons ago.
