Boss delighted with latest Chelsea signing – Blues move for Bundesliga star – Midfielder makes Chelsea decision
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –
Alan Hutton has suggested Mateo Kovacic won’t want to sign a new contract at CHELSEA.
Chelsea have been one of the most active sides in the transfer windows over the last few seasons – and there are alot of changes going on in the club – with a new board – and possibly a new manager.
Graham Potter has been given the task of getting the club back to the very top of the game – but so far he has been unable to get the very best out one of the most expensive sides in the Premier League.
Kovacic, 28, has entered the final 18 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge and is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in January 2024. Chelsea do not want to lose the man, but there is a feeling that he is ready to depart the club.
When asked if Kovacic fits in to Potter’s team moving forward, Hutton told Football Insider: “Obviously only Graham Potter will know but they have got so many options within the midfield.
“This is the problems we are talking about, how do you pick a starting XI and keep everybody happy?
“Of course he is a fantastic footballer but if these guys are not going to get the minutes, they will not want to play. Why would you want to sign a new contract?
“Even the likes of N’Golo Kante just coming back, they are talking about giving him a new contract. They spent £107million on a midfielder to come in and play that role.
“Something has to give. Whether they offer new contracts or not, some massive decisions have to be made by Potter and the backroom staff.“

Kovacic is a very gifted player that will have many options if he comes onto the market – so we would not be surprised to see him leave.
This CHELSEA is a working project and may need some time before they are winning the Premier League and Champions League again – and at 28 years of age – Kovacic knows he does not have too many more seasons at the top of the game that is for sure
Chelsea sign Evrard –
CHELSEA have signed Nicky Evrard from OH Leuven on a pre-contract agreement, with the Belgium goalkeeper set to join in the summer.
Evrard, 27, capped 61 times by her country, has agreed a contract with Chelsea until the summer of 2026 and will arrive in time for next season.
Blues boss Emma Hayes said: “Nicky will be a great addition to our squad, certainly she showed her quality and her talent in the Euros last summer.
“Coming into a full-time, professional environment will certainly help her take the steps in the next direction. I know she will complement Ann (Ann-Katrin Berger) and Zecira (Musovic) and add to our goalkeeping union.”
Evrard, whose previous clubs include FC Twente, Sporting Huelva and Gent Ladies, won the Belgian Golden Shoe earlier this year, becoming the first goalkeeper to win the women’s award.
She added: “It’s really crazy, dreams do come true. I’m really happy, excited and honoured to play for a big club like Chelsea.
“I hope to bring my performance from the Euros to here, the big goal is to bring something to the team. Chelsea want to win trophies, that is also my ambition and I want to win a lot at the club.”

CHELSEA have been doing some great business over the past couple of transfer windows and the signing of Evrard will add some more depth to the squad.
The stopper will be a great signing for the club and fans will be delighted to see another arrival when she officially completes her move
Blues make Dahoud moves –
CHELSEA. are among the teams in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud,
So far this season, the midfielder has started just three games in the Bundesliga and has not featured in any of Dortmund’s Champions League games so far, as he struggles to make any impact on the Bundesliga giants.
That has meant that the decision has already been made that the club will not be looking to renew the contract of the midfielder this season and will allow him to depart the club.
“I had a very open and honest conversation with Mo last week. I informed him that we would not be extending his contract in the summer,’ Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl said last month.
‘Mo has been with us for six years now, he is a very good footballer and I really have a very high opinion of him in terms of sport and personality. Nevertheless, we decided to take this step.’

According to Sky Germany, Dahoud is not short of offers as several clubs have already made enquiries ahead of the summer window.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Leicester City, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma are all interested in a potential deal for the player – but it has been claimed that the Gunners have already made their moves for the man.
Graham Potter knows that the Blues will have alot of games to play next season with the Europa League, and knows that he needs to add some more depth to the squad.

Dahoud may not be the biggest name that has been linked with a move to CHELSEA. – but he is certainly a player that has proven himself at the top of the game.
He has been unfortunate that there are some quality players now at Dortmund – but if he moves to Stamford Bridge – he may find that sitting on the bench at the club will happen too – as they also have a number of quality players in the squad.
