Cherries to cash in and sell assist-machine Fraser to Arsenal this coming summer window?
Reports have claimed that Bournemouth are considering whether or not to cash in on winger Ryan Fraser, with Arsenal interested in a potential transfer deal.
Now Arsenal are form favourites to finish back inside the top four this season and guarantee themselves Champions League football for next season, Emery is keen to bolster his squad in the summer transfer window and try to add a bit more creativity and goals to his squad.
Danny Welbeck is not guaranteed to get a new contract, Aaron Ramsey has already agreed a move to Italian giants Juventus, while his January signing Denis Suarez has not made the kind of impact that Emery has expected and many reports in the media have all suggested that he will not be getting a new contract to stay at the club beyond this season.
And according to reports, Suarez’s failure to make an impact at the Emirates has led to Emery drawing up a list of alternative options, with Fraser one of the top names on the list.
Emery wants more threat from out wide and Fraser certainly provides that, having laid on 10 assists in the Premier League this season with only Chelsea’s Eden Hazard having more assists then the Bournemouth wide man.
And now the Daily Mirror have claimed with Fraser’s contact at the Vitality Stadium set to expire at the end of next season, the Cherries face a decision whether to cash in or risk losing the 25-year-old for nothing.
Bournemouth boss Howe recently admitted that he could lose the impressive winger, stating on the Sky Sports website: ‘We have spoken to Ryan and his representatives about his contract. It is one where we will see what happens,’
‘There is no doubting Ryan’s quality and how highly we think of him. He is an outstanding talent but it is a two-way prospect to sign a contract, so let’s wait and see.
‘Ryan has contributed to the team this season but it’s not the time to talk about speculation. Who knows in the summer? It is that time of year when things change and us ourselves will be looking to sign players’.’
Saurez has been a massive flop since his move to the Emirates in January and many have questioned just why he was brought in, but letting him head back to Barcelona in the summer may be the best thing as he has not adapted to the Premier League.
Fraser may not be the big named player that many Arsenal fans crave, but his record speaks for itself and under the Guidance of Emery he could become a creativity machine.
