Manchester United Fans Told If £80M Premier League Star Will Be Good Signing!
Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has urged the club to consider Jarrod Bowen as a transfer target this summer, as speculation mounts over how the Red Devils might strengthen their attacking options in the summer.
Bowen, the West Ham United captain and established England international, has been identified by Parker as a “decent player” who could add depth to United’s wide attacking options — even if he might not immediately displace established starters at Old Trafford.
While Parker did acknowledge that Bowen may not be the transformative signing some fans crave, he suggested the 29‑year‑old’s experience and Premier League know‑how could still be valuable for a Manchester United squad looking to balance youth and experience.
The Hammers forward has been West Ham’s talisman in recent seasons, known for his work rate, goal threat and leadership on the pitch, which has made him one of the more consistent English attackers in the Premier League.
Though Bowen’s goal return this campaign has been affected by West Ham’s broader struggles, his overall quality and adaptability continue to attract attention from clubs across the division, he told PariuriX: “I think Jarrod Bowen is a decent player, but I don’t think he is what Man United needs. I also think he has dropped in level, however he is still very important to West Ham.
“Would I be extremely mad at the club bringing him in to be a squad player? Probably not, but he would never be a starter and I think he needs to be a starter. He has always been that and he is not an impact player as such. He is a player who likes to be involved with the game from start to finish.
“I like him, but he wouldn’t improve Manchester United. He is the type of player who has a ceiling and in my opinion he has hit that ceiling.
‘He is not going to improve a lot with better players around him and he is not better than what we have.”
