Brand new star on way as 22-goal star has agreed to join Liverpool this summer

Reports in the media have now revealed that Bayer Leverkusen striker Hugo Ekitike has now agreed to join LIVERPOOL this window, despite Newcastle United making a move for the young man.

Newcastle have one of the very best strikers in Europe in the form of Aleksander Isak, but with With Callum Wilson gone and their key summer target Joao Pedro lost to Chelsea, they have now switched their attentions to Ekitike.

Ekitike has become one of Europe’s most wanted young forwards after a stellar season in the Bundesliga, where he netted 22 goals and provided 12 assists, and his performances have caught the attentions of the Newcastle board.

However – The 23-year-old striker has agreed to the move in principle, if a deal can be done between the clubs. Liverpool have indicated to the Bundesliga side that they are ready to make an official offer.

Talks are progressing and the deal is expected to move quickly

IcFootballnews Says…

Ekitike would be joining one of the best sides in the Premier League, and an attack that would give him many more chances to score, it would be a dream move for the lad we are sure.

It is a big step to make, and one that hopefully works out if he makes it as he has the potential to be world class, but it will also be interesting to see how Arne Slot lines up his side next season.

Alexander Isak is a 30 goals a season striker so missing out on Ekitike will not be a massive blow for the Toon, but it does mean that LIVERPOOL will not be making a move for the big Swedish star this summer if they land Etitike.
