Ozil and Sokratis to leave Arsenal, Romano has Brandt message, Arsenal urged to sign Brandt, Upamecano decision made in Arsenal news and gossip…

Arsenal are set to open talks with RB Leipzig, but will have to wait until the summer to land Dayot Upamecano, According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano,

The Frenchman is regarded as one of the best young defenders in the world and has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool over the past 12 months as he continues to impress on the highest stage of the game.

However, Arsenal have also reportedly entered the chase to try and get the young man all signed up in the coming transfer windows as they seek to add another defender to that back-line that will eventually replace the ageing David Silva

RB Leipzig have recently admitted that the right amount of money would get a transfer deal done, but the latest reports suggest that the Bundesliga side are not open to selling one of their prized assets in the January Transfer window, despite the fact he has a release clause in his contract

And according to Italian Romano, Chelsea will have to wait until the end of the season to try and get their man: he Tweeted: “RB Leipzig are not open to sell Dayot Upamecano in January. He’s expected to leave the club next summer – many clubs interested and set to open talks with his agent. The release clause value is €42m. ⛔️ #transfers #Leipzig

Genoa have confirmed their interest in Arsenal outcast Sokratis Papastathopoulos, while Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has revealed the club are ‘closer’ than ever to completing the signing of Arsenal outcast Mesut Ozil

Ozil has been in the headlines alot over the past 12 months, despite the fact that he has not been in the squad of Mikel Arteta since last March, but it seems that his time at the club is close to coming to an end.

Fenerbahce have been in talks with the Arsenal to wrap up a transfer deal for the German, who is keen on a move to Turkey, and the President of the Turkish club have admitted that a deal is closer than ever.

Responding to the recent speculation, Fenerbahce president Koc told Turkish outlet TRT Spor: “Ozil would be a dream for us at Fenerbahce.

“The club knows what the coach wants and our transfer policy is guided by that.

“There hasn’t been an official announcement. What I can say is we are closer than before.”

And another player that is edging closer to those exit signs is defender Sokratis, who is seemingly on his way to Italian football with Genoa.

32-year-old Sokratis’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in the summer, and the fact that he has fallen well down the pecking order at the club means that he is a player that is no longer needed at the Emirates.

And Genoa’s chief executive Alessandro Zarbano has hinted at a move in the coming days.

Zarbano revealed on the TMW website: “Sokratis is an option, really good player.

“We still don’t know if he’ll arrive in the next few days.”

Arsenal have been urged to make a transfer move to try and bring Julian Brandt to the Emirates this month

With constant reports in the media that Mikel Arteta is a man that knows he needs to add a new creative midfielder to the squad in the coming windows, there has been alot of rumours that Arsenal are very interested in a deal for Brandt.

Regarded very highly across Europe, Brandt is making a real name for himself over in the Bundesliga and has not missed a single game for Dortmund this season, making in a key part of the Germans side.

But amid the rumours that Arsenal are keen, Tifo football insists that Brandt would be be the ideal signing, claiming that he is consistent in key areas, describing his techniques as ‘excellent’ during his podcast on YouTube.

“The sort of player who can do things that get you off your seat, but also does unflashy things consistently well, driving forwards with the ball at his feet, he can pick intelligent passes at speed, because his technique is excellent.

“And he’s also a solid presser… So while he is genuinely a box office attacker at times, Brandt seems to have the work ethic and tactical discipline to be more than just a luxury player. He could therefore help solve Arsenal’s key issues creatively but without being a defensive passenger.”

Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano has been opening up on the idea of Arsenal trying to sign Fabrizio Romano this transfer window.

After a stunning season with German outfit Borussia Dortmund, there has been alot of speculation that Mikel Arteta wants the club to delve into that transfer kitty to try and sign the young man.

Arteta has a very good squad that is on a very good winning streak, but he knows that he needs to keep adding to that midfield and add a bit more creativity to a side that has struggled to score goals at times this season.

But Romano has pointed out a couple of problems for Arsenal to try and complete a deal for Brandt this transfer window.

“With the injury of Axel Witsel, it will be really difficult to sign Brandt,” he said on the Football Daily Twitter

“For sure, Arsenal are following the player for many months, but at the moment, it’s really difficult to sign him in January.

“I think Brandt is a difficult target for Arsenal.”
