Brazilian to be the first January signing for West Ham after boss confirms move happening
It has been claimed that Brazilian defender Luizao is all set to complete a January move to West Ham – as they seek a replacement for Craig Dawson
The veteran centre-back, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made just five starts this season after struggling with injury and it has been claimed that he will be leaving the Hammers in the coming transfer windows
And it has been claimed that new Aston Villa boss Unai Emery will be in the market for an experienced central defender as he looks to get the club higher up the Premier League – and solve their defensive issues
Now Brazilian media outlet UOL have claimed that Luizao is all set to complete a move to West Ham in January
Sao Paulo manager Rogerio Ceni recently confirmed that the 20-year-old defender will definitely be leaving the club on a free transfer in January, when speaking to Bolavip:
I face this (the exits) as a normal thing. I regret the way they leave. It was for the club to make good money with these players.
“What we regret most is a young player like Luizão, with a contract ending in January, leaving free.
The young and talented Brazilian is making a real name for himself over in Brazil – with his pace and strength seen as attributes that could make him a very solid signing for a top European club

We are pretty sure that West Ham will want to get something for Dawson in the January window rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season – so if he leaves – it will probably be best for all around
Luizao is a very talented lad that still has alot to learn in the game – so he would not be the type of player that could make a difference to that Hammers squad right away
But for the right money – he could be a great long-term investment
