Former Blues star opens up and makes stunning Sarri claim which leaves Chelsea fans stunned

Former Chelsea defender Wayne Bridge has claimed that he is shocked to see that Maurizio Sarri is still boss at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea ended months of talks last summer when they finally agreed a deal with Napoli that allowed Sarri to make the move to Stamford Bridge, as owner Roman Abramovic believed he would bring the style of attacking play that the Russian has been craving.

However, there has been a lot of criticism in regards to the style of play of Sarri, with many fans chanting ‘F*** Sarriball’ on many occasions this season, despite the fact that he has got them back inside the top four and into two finals this season.

“Some say it’s been successful but it’s been very up and down,” Bridge told Sky Sports News.

“They’ve been very inconsistent and consistency is what you want of a big team. That’s what’s going to win you the Premier League.

“I don’t really know where he [Sarri] stands. I’m very surprised that he’s still there.

“They are third [in the Premier League] and they are in a final [the Europa League] but as an ex-player and a Chelsea fan, they would like to see them higher up in the table.

“I know it’s third but they want to see them competing [for the title].”

Sarri may not have won all the Chelsea fans over, but Chelsea could still be crowned European Champions and playing Champions League football next season, which is something many in the media believed would not happen at the beginning of the season.

So even though he ha snot brought the style of play that many expected, the Italian has been a huge success in the Premier League in his first spell and it is not a shock to us that he is till in charge, as Sarri is a world class boss.

Chelsea need to keep hold of the Italian as even Pep Guardiola failed to adapt to the Premier League in his first few seasons, so given a good few seasons and the right signings, the Blues will eventually start challenging for the Premier League title under the Italian.
