Brilliant midfielder speaks out about leaving with Arsenal looking to do deal
Bruno Guimaraes has opened up on his future at Newcastle United amid interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Guimares joined Newcastle in January from Lyon for £40million and signed a contract that runs until 2026 – and he has developed into one of the most important players at the club right now
He has been so impressive at the Toon since his move though that It is believed Newcastle have offered Guimaraes a huge pay hike that would take him to around £200,000-a-week and extend his deal by two more years.
Rumours have been circulating in the media over the past few days that some Premier League rivals are eyeing up a possible move for the man – and Spanish giants Real Madrid have also been keeping a close eye
Now – amid all that speculation – the gifted Brazilian has opened up and admitted that he is just focusing on Newcastle and the World Cup.
“I feel at home,” he told Sky Sports. “The experience I’ve had here has been amazing. Yes, sometimes it can be difficult to leave the house because everybody recognises me!
” But they [the fans] are always so friendly, so loving, not just with me but with everyone in my family.
“It’s always nice when there are teams looking at you, but my plan is just to do my best at Newcastle.
“The rest, I leave with my agent. I have three or four years of contract left. It’s so long. I swear I’m not thinking about other things.
“My focus now is just on Newcastle and the World Cup. There is a long way to go.
“I love playing here, I love to bond with the fans, and I want to become a legend here.”
