Right-back announces ‘i am very excited’ after Arsenal transfer deal confirmed
Coventry City have completed the loan signing of Arsenal right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy until the end of the season – and he is delighted with the move.
The 18-year-old caught the eye in 2022 during loan spells at Lincoln City and Rotherham United and will join up with the promotion-chasing Sky Blues in aiming to cement a position in the starting XI.
Norton-Cuffy is currently a member of England’s Under-19 team, but he is not quite ready to make any sort of an impact at Arsenal and that is why they have decided to ship him out on loan.
And after completing his move – The 18-year-old took to Instagram to send a message to Coventry supporters.
He wrote: “Very excited to spend the 2nd half of the season on loan at Coventry City FC.
“Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome.”
IcFootballnews Verdict –
The lad is one of those players that showed real potential as a younger player – but has not grown at the rate that Mikel Arteta wants or needs.
We have seen over the last few seasons that if you are ready to break into that Arsenal first-team – Arteta will give you a chance.
Norton-Cuffy may unfortunately be one of those youngsters that is never quite good enough for Arsenal and will be shipped out on loan numerous times before he officially departs on a permanent basis.
But he can now use the next six-months of football to showcase his ability in the lower Leagues – as he could still make a great career in the game of football – it does not mean that his career is over if he does not make it at Arsenal
