Bundesliga enforcer star opens door to Chelsea move after making big contract decision

RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has told the club that he doesn’t want to extend his contract, alerting the likes of Chelsea

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga club this summer, with numerous clubs from the Premier League linked.

The midfield enforcer has been one of the top performers in Europe across the last couple of years and an impressive European Championship has attracted even more interest, and there is claims that Thomas Tuchel would like to add him to the squad.

Tuchel knows that he needs to keep improving that squad in the transfer window, and Now reports on Goal have claimed that Sabitzer has opened up and told his current club that he doesnt want to extend his contract with the club

It remains to be seen if a transfer will be arranged this summer, although Leipzig run the risk of losing him on a free transfer in 2022, should they fail to agree a contract extension.

Sabitzer is certainly a player that could make a real impact on this Chelsea side if they did decide to try and get a deal done. But he may feel a move to the Bridge would not give him the game time that he would want.

However, now that there is space in that Chelsea squad for a player like him to make a big impact, a move to the Premier League would give him the chance to test himself at the very highest level of the game.

And for the money that he could go for, he could be seen as a real summer bargain for the Blues if he leaves this transfer window
