Wow! Staggering claim made regarding Chelsea’s £100 million signing
Ally McCoist has named Chelsea star Moises Caicedo as his transfer flop of the season, pipping a Manchester United star to the unwanted title
Caicedo was one of the most talked about players of the summer window, as a number of clubs were reportedly interested in a deal for the midfielder after he had impressive season last year.
However – it was CHELSEA that decided to splash the big cash and take him to Stamford Bridge in a deal that cost the club £100 million, which is not including the amount of wages and sign on fees.
Man United made the massive decision to let World class David De Gea depart the club at the beginning of the summer window and bring in Onana – who was regarded as one of the best in the game because of his performances for Inter Milan
Responding to a suggestion that United goalkeeper Andre Onana is the flop of the season, McCoist has claimed that it is Caicedo that should be classed as the transfer flop of the season.
He said: “He’s nothing like the signing everybody thought he would be but I’m not giving him flop of the season so far.
“I think that’s just ever-so-slightly harsh..”
Discussing Caicedo, the Scottish football legend said: “I’ve got to say, I saw him a couple of times, particularly at Old Trafford him and Enzo Fernandez – both of them, to be honest with you – a quarter of a billion pounds…
“Caicedo would certainly get my vote before Onana, to be honest with you.”

CHELSEA splashed some serious money for Caicedo – crazy money really and that is why many believe he was not worth the money.
At Brighton he proved that he is a decent player – but he is not at the required quality to play for a club like Chelsea. He does not create chances, he does not assist and he does not score – it is a signing that did not need to happen.
