Fans urge Cantwell to sign up, Partey deal is close, Arsenal make Ceballos transfer decision, Trio on way to Arsenal Video in Arsenal news roundup..
Arsenal are “close” to landing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Arsenal know that they may need to prepare for next season as this year may be over, and that means that the club will need to get into that transfer kitty early in the summer and sign players that they believe, will make an impact in the side next season.
And the club have been linked with a move for Partey for many years now, and have once again showed a keen interest in a possible deal, as the 26-year-old has been in impressive form for the Spanish side and starred in their win over Liverpool in the Champions League earlier in the season
Reports emerged last month that the midfielder’s dad suggested Atletico Madrid are locked in negotiations with the Gunners over a fee, Jacob Partey told a radio station how talks between his son and Arsenal were ongoing – but that Atleti are determined to hold on to him.
However, Spanish publication La Razon say a deal for Atletico midfielder Partey is “close” and all Arsenal have to do is activate the release clause that is currently in the contract of Partey
The Ghana international, 27, is contracted at the Wanda Metropolitano until 2023 but will ONLY leave this summer if his £47m release clause is triggered, the reports goes on to suggest.
Partey to Arsenal have been close for weeks now and looks no closer to getting done then Arsenal were two seasons ago, so until he flies to England to have his medical and sign on that dotted line, Gunners fans will not believe that a deal is close.
Arsenal will not attempt to buy Dani Ceballos when his loan from Real Madrid expires, despite the fact he is interested in staying in England.
After months and month and months of transfer speculation during the summer transfer window, the Gunners finally managed to finalise a try-before-they officially buy deal for the Spaniard, as Emery was desperate to add another midfielder to the side after Aaron Ramsey departed the club.
Ceballos has made 26 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and recently forced his way back into Mikel Arteta’s plans after a slow start under the new head coach, but the decision has been made not to hand him a new deal.
Reports on the Sun website have claimed that Arsenal have now made the decision to not make the Ceballos move an official one and will allow him to return to parent club Real Madrid when his loan deal finishes at the end of the season.
However, despite the fact His campaign at Arsenal has not always been smooth sailing, with injuries, a change in manager and the coronavirus outbreak hindering his cause, he has admitted that he is open to staying in the Premier League.
Ceballos told El Larguero when quizzed on his plans: “The owner of my future next year is me. Next year I want to play and I will hardly be able to do it at Real Madrid.
“Would I return with [Zinedine] Zidane? I have to make the decision. He told me this year that the best thing was for me to leave and get experience.
“Everyone makes their decisions and they must be respected, I have nothing against him because he has always been very clear with me.
“Betis? It is an option. I do not close the door to play in any club. I do not rule out continuing in the Premier [League].”
“The coach plays a game very similar to what [Manchester] City is trying to do and I think we make a game philosophy that is difficult for the rival to fit in with,” Ceballos, who helped the Gunners to a 2-0 victory over Southampton in their most recent outing, added.
“He does not talk about anecdotes with Pep [Guardiola] but it shows in his training, I have learned a lot about soccer in a different way. It is a luxury to be able to learn from a coach with these qualities.”
Arsenal fans are urging Norwich midfielder Todd Cantwell to sign for them, after his tweet to Thierry Henry.
