Captain America is back! Pulisic helps Chelsea grab draw in stunning Liverpool game

Chelsea, Pulisic

Christian Pulisic put in a stunning performance to help Chelsea grab a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

Heading into the match, Liverpool were clear favourites to pick up the three points and close their gap on runaway leaders Manchester City, and that certainly looked on after Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah put the Reds ahead early in the first half.

But Chelsea, who dropped club-record signing Romelu Lukaku, produced a spirited comeback in the space of four first-half minutes as Mateo Kovacic’s spectacular volley and Christian Pulisic’s brilliant lob levelled the pulsating contest on the stroke of half-time.

There was some great attacking and defending on show in the second half, but the scoreline stayed the same and it probably deserved to stay that way

The result means Chelsea remain second, 10 points behind leaders City, and a point and a place ahead of third-place Liverpool, who have played a game fewer than their title rivals.

Two great teams going head to head is always special so to watch such a great game was fantastic. These two will be there at the end of the season trying to win that Premier League title.

But the quality on the pitch just shows the difference from City, Chelsea and Liverpool from the rest of the League

Both managers will probably be happy with this result
