Chelsea have confirmed that talented midfielder Cesare Casadei has completed a season-long loan move to Championship side Leicester City.

The Italian U20 international is one of the most highly-rated talents that CHELSEA have in the ranks – and they firmly believe that he could be a regular starter for the club in the coming seasons.

However – he is not quite ready to make an impact this season and the decision has been made for Casadai to join City on a season-long loan fand He could make his debut in Saturday’s Championship home clash against Cardiff City

City boss Enzo Maresca was said to be key in sealing the deal, with the Foxes beating off competition for the midfielder. Casadei spent pre-season with Chelsea before joining City

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

Chelsea Posted: ‘The 20-year-old arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2022 from Inter Milan. He was a regular for our Under-21 side before leaving on loan in January for Reading.

Casadei made 15 appearances for the Royals and that experience will undoubtedly serve him well as he returns to the second tier with Leicester.

Good luck, Cesare!’

Co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: ‘This loan move is the perfect opportunity for Cesare to continue his progression as an exciting, young footballer.

‘We’re excited to see how he performs under Enzo Maresca at Leicester and look forward to watching him continue on this journey.’

Great move for Casadei to make –

The lad has some serious talent and there are quite a few clubs out there that will be keeping a close eye on how he performs at Leicester as there may be a chance to seal a move in the coming seasons.

This is a very smart decision from CHELSEA to make – sending him out on loan to a Championship side will give him the experience he needs to take it to another level.

And for the lad – he needs to work hard and prove that he can make an impact at Leicester and help the club get back to the Premier League.
