Cavani alert, Cavani alert! Manchester United close in on deal as striker ‘unhappy’ at PSG
Manchester United have been alerted to the news that PSG striker Edinson Cavani is unhappy at the club.
Since Zlatan Ibrahmovic left PSG to sign for United a few seasons ago, Cavani has been banging in the goals for the French side and firmly established himself as the clubs man forward.
However, he has not been such a big player for PSG this season and has seen his game time limited as he simply cannot click with Brazilians at the club.
French publication L’Equipe have claimed he believes his lack of playing time is because he is not part of the Brazilian clique – which includes Thiago Silva, Neymar, Dani Alves, and Marquinhos – rather than for footballing reasons.
And the news will alert Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who is in dire need of adding another striker to his front-line, especially since Romelu Lukaku has failed to find the form which made him such a force last season for United.
Mourinho is expected to delve into his transfer kitty during the January transfer window and try to acquire a few players as he looks to reignite the clubs season.
Could United tempt Cavani into making the move to Old Trafford?
United need to spend big money and bring in a few world class players that will make an immediate impact on the squad at Old Trafford, and although Cavani has not started the new season in great form, he is still one of the best players in the game.
So if United back Mourinho in bringing ina few new faces, the signing of Cavani would be a great deal, especially for the right price.
