Arteta delighted with new deal, Edu on Ceballos arrival, Aouar price set, Koulibaly leaving Napoli and Ceballos on his Arsenal return in Arsenal roundup..
Dani Ceballos has opened up and revealed just how it feels to be back at Arsenal this summer.
Ceballos become a key figure in the Mikel Arteta side last season and the Gunners boss was desperate to make sure that the club did all they could to bring the Madrid midfielder back to the club.
And after a few weeks of talks, the Arsenal managed to secure another 12 month loan deal for Ceballos that saw him make a quick return to the Emirates, despite the constant reports he wanted to try his luck in the Madrid side.
But after sealing his move, Ceballos has revealed his delight at moving back to the Arsenal, He told the Arsenal website: “I’m very pleased to be back with Arsenal – I’m very happy to have come back to a club where I feel important,” Ceballos told Arsenal Digital.
“It’s true that I had other options, such as staying at Real Madrid and going back to the Spanish league, where there were teams interested in me.
“I spoke to the coach last year, before the [Emirates FA Cup] final, and told him that I wanted to stay at Arsenal and win titles. I’d been really happy with what Mikel had built at the club since he came in. I had a great time at this club last season and there was never any doubt in my mind that I wanted to come back.
“I think everybody can see what Arteta is doing at the club. He’s only been here for eight months. There were three competitions we could fight for. We got knocked out of the Europa League, unfairly in my view, but then we won the FA Cup and the Community Shield, which were well-deserved titles.
“More than that, though, it’s about what he’s created here – there’s real positive energy in the dressing room, the players are happy and everyone is doing their bit. We’re bringing through young players, which I think is really important for this club, because it’s something that’s always been done here.
“Mikel is the right person to get this club back to where it deserves to be, which I believe is in the Champions League, competing against the best teams in Europe.”
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed Kalidou Koulibaly will leave for the right price this summer, with Arsenal long linked with the defender.
Koulibaly has firmly established himself as one of the very best centre-backs over in Italy over the past few seasons and his performances have led to rumours that he is coming to the Premier League
The 29-year-old defender has been linked with big-money moves to Arsenal for months now, but he has been out of their price range as Napoli did not want to sell the big man for anything less than £100 million, meaning that Arsenal decided to sign Gabriel instead.
But they have once again been handed a massive boost as De Laurentiis has confirmed Kalidou Koulibaly will leave for the right price this summer, with reports suggesting that he would take £60 million for the powerhouse.
De Laurentiis told Canale 21: “Koulibaly and [Napoli striker Arkadiusz] Milik are both on their way out, transfer market permitting.
“So, if the transfer market allows us to sell these two excellent players, we will know how to replace them.
“If not, then we’ll discuss it again next year.”
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is delighted to have Dani Ceballos back for another year at Arsenal.
Arsenal have started getting their transfer business done before the start of the new Premier League season next week as he seeks to get his side ready for a Champions League push.
And he has been keen to make sure that Ceballos was a player that was brought back to the club for the next 12 months, and after a few weeks of talks with Real Madrid, Ceballos flew back to London yesterday to complete his move back to the club.
And Arteta has opened up on the Spaniards arrival and has admitted just how delighted he is that the club managed to make sure that another loan deal was struck with Madrid, Arteta told the club website: “Dani was and integral part of our team last season and finished the season in excellent form.

Ceballos has been in the media over the past few months as Mikel Arteta has openly come out and admitted that he would like the Spaniard to stay at the club beyond this season.
Ceballos has been a big part of the way Arsenal have been playing over the past few weeks, and was once again instrumental in helping the Gunners control the game against Chelsea in the 2-1 in the FA Cup final.
However, Arsenal could not strike up another loan deal before he made the move back to La Liga earlier in the transfer window, but were constantly working on a deal that would bring him back to the club.
And after a few days of talks, The Real Madrid loanee is back in North London for another 12 months, with the Gunners transfer chief revealing his delight to the club website.

“We all know his qualities after an impressive 2019/2020 campaign, which ended with him playing a key role in our FA Cup success.
“We’re excited to add Dani to the list of quality players we are bringing in.”
Arsenal have been delivered a blow in their pursuit of Houssem Aouar, with Lyon insisting they won’t sell for anything less than €60million.
With Arsenal seeking to add some much needed quality to their midfield and there willingness to give the talents in the game a chance to sign, reports have suggested that Mikel Arteta has been impressed with Aouar this season and is ready to beat the likes of Juventus and Chelsea to a summer deal
Aouar has become one of the most sought after young midfielders in the game and just the type of signing that Mikel Arteta would love to add to his side in order to get back into that Champions League next season.
The 22-year-old midfielder played a key role in his side’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League last season, which saw them knock out Juventus and Man City, as He registered a goal and four assists in eight matches as Lyon were knocked out by eventual winners Bayern Munich.
Speculation have suggested that Arsenal are ready to swoop in and offer around £35 million to get the exciting midfielder all signed up this summer, but that asking price has now gone up with all the speculation surrounding the man.
According to Fabrizio Romano Lyon know the value of the young man and know that all the interest has now bumped up the players asking price, meaning that they will be asking for more than was expected.
He Tweeted: “They [Arsenal] are absolutely interested and are monitoring the situation, but nothing advanced.
“He’s a top player. They [Arsenal] have spoken with his agent.
“Again – they need to sell, but nothing less than €60m. He’d be one of the best signings this window.”
