Poch decision made – Chelsea inform £50M star they are keen to get winter deal done!
Chelsea are still looking to sell Trevoh Chalobah when the January transfer window opens, football.london understands.
CHELSEA were one of the most active sides in the transfer window over the past few months and managed to bring in a whole load of players that the board feel will help drive the club forward over the next couple of seasons.
However – there were also a number of players that the club no longer wanted to keep hold of and Chalobah was on the chopping board at Stamford Bridge.
Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano believes Nottingham Forest and the Blues shook hands on a £25m deal for Chalobah after Bayern Munich saw a move of their own for the Chelsea No.14 break down, but he made the decision to stay and fight for his place in the Blues squad.
Tottenham were also linked with a late deadline day loan deal. The north Londoners are long-term admirers of the defender and could return for him in the January transfer window.
And if you believe the Football.London website, Chelsea have now told the defender that he will be allowed to leave the club in the next transfer window.
WILL CHELSEA REALLY LET CHALOBAH LEAVE?
It has come as a shock to hear that CHELSEA are willing to let Chalobah depart the club in the last transfer window – especially with the injuries and exits that have occurred this summer.
It will be a shame for the lad if he is forced out of the club as he actually wants to be there – and that is the type of player that Mauricio Pochettino wants at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are lacking depth in that back-line to adding one defender to the side and then letting another go, may not be the best decision from the board to make.
