Sarri closes in on Bale, ‘wont be east’ to accept Eden decision, midfielder tells Chelsea he will sign up, Lampard sends Hazard message

Here is a roundup of the latest Chelsea news and gossip

Chelsea are again on full alert after Zinedine Zidane has cast further doubt on Gareth Bale’s future after he left the Welshman out of Real Madrid’s squad for their defeat at Real Sociedad.

The 29-year-old did not even make the bench for Sunday’s LaLiga encounter which ended in a shock defeat, as the Welsh wizard looks all set to leave the Spanish side at the end of the season.

Bale has been heavily criticised for not stepping up an filling the boost of Cristiano Ronaldo this season, and that has led to a lot of transfer speculation that he would be a transfer casualty at the end of the year.

Chelsea are very strong admirers of Bale and have tried on numerous occasions to try and bring him back to the premier League, but he had no desire to leave Madrid and opted to stay and fight for his career in La Liga.

Bale’s omission only increases speculation he will be heading for the exit this summer, and Zidane was in no mood to offer any assurances to the four-time Champions League winner.

It would appear unlikely that Bale will feature in the season finale against Real Betis, with Zidane saying it’s ‘very clear what he’s done’ and to ‘see what happens next year’

“It’s very clear what I’ve done this weekend. Next week we see what I do, and also what happens next year. That’s it!” Zidane said on Marca (Read More)

Former Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo has admitted ‘it may not be easy’ for many at the club to accept Eden Hazard’s departure at the end of the season.

The Belgian has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent times and with one year left on his contract he could depart Stamford Bridge over the summer, as reports have suggested the Spaniards are ready to make a £80 million offer for his services.

Chelsea do not want to lose their star man at the end of the season, but also do not intend to let him leave in 12 months time for absolutely nothing, which could be the case if he is forced to stay one more year.

And the Belgian has recently revealed that he has already informed Chelsea of his decision in the summer, and is just waiting to see what happens, something Di Matteo claims would be a shame for the Blues.

“It would be a real shame for any club to lose a top player like Hazard,” Di Matteo told Sky Sports.

“But I don’t think it will be as easy as that because if you take into account the transfer ban Chelsea have, I’m not sure they are going to let anyone leave easily that they don’t want to.

“It’s understandable that there might be some intention from him to have a different experience at a different club and in a different league after many years at Chelsea.

“But he’s got a contract and at the end I guess they’ll have to sit down and see what solution they can find.” (Read More)

Blues legend Frank Lampard has admitted that he hopes that Chelsea will be able to cope without Eden Hazard.

There has been so many headlines about Hazard this season that it has been frustrating many fans, especially as all the talk has been about the Belgian packing his bags and leaving for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

It is no secret that the Spaniards are desperate to sign the winger, and if you believe reports on L’Equipe, Madrid have already agreed a massive £86 million deal with Chelsea for Hazard.

Madrid are expected to make an official announcement following the Europa League final at the end of this month, with Hazard revealing that he has informed Chelsea of his decision a few weeks ago.

And although Lampard is confident Sarri will cope without his star man, he has urged the Italian to trust more in the young players to help cope with his loss.

‘He’s in the top few players in the world. I think we all know that,’ Lampard, now manager of Derby, told talkSPORT.

‘We’ve seen him in the Premier League and he has been a joy to have. He was a joy to play with. I knew his potential from day one when he trained at Chelsea a few years ago now.

‘Of course it will be disappointing to lose him for the Premier League but particularly Chelsea. You don’t replace Eden Hazard, you have to find ways around it whether it be some of the younger players or the team.

‘That’s if you are going to lose him, we don’t know that for sure yet but it seems it might happen.’ (Read More)

Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Ruben Loftus-Cheek will sign a new contract with Chelsea, if he is guaranteed more first team opportunities.

Loftus-Cheek is regarded as one of the finest talents currently on the Chelsea books and is tipped to become a superstar for both the Blues and England.

The 23-year-old has scored nine goals this term despite having limited opportunities under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri, who has preferred Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho for most of the game this season for Chelsea.

Loftus-Cheek has two years to run on his Chelsea deal, but with the Blues facing a transfer ban, Chelsea are keen to tie the midfielder down to longer terms at Stamford Bridge and end all speculation that he could seek a way out of the club.

The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a possible move for Loftus-Cheek, with some reports suggesting both were readying a big summer offer to try and prise him away from the club, with the premise of more Premier League action.

But reports on the Sun website have claimed that Loftus-Cheek will indeed sign a new contract at the club if he is guaranteed regular football.
