Wonderful defender Telles all set to sign up with Chelsea in problem solving move from Lampard?

Chelsea are in pole position to sign Porto left-back Alex Telles in the summer window, according to Italian outlet TuttoSport.

The world is currently gripped by the Coronavirus outbreak that is shutting down pretty much every aspect of life, which has meant that there has not been much news to report coming out of the Stamford Bridge.’

But Frank Lampard knows that he needs to improve the side if he wants to get back inside the top four and then push on to challenge for a Premier League title and Champions League crown.

And one area of concern for the Blues is the defence, as it is not good enough to challenge the big boys in Europe, so Lampard is reportedly keen to sort that issues out with the possible signing of Telles, who has been very impressive for Porto over the last few seasons.

Chelsea were handed a massive boost recently when Portuguese newspaper Record claim Telles is now being represented by famed agent Pini Zahavi – a man who has long-rooted ties at Chelsea.

He played a role in Roman Abramovich’s purchase of the club back in 2003 and has had a hand in a host of transfers for the club since then, while he remains on excellent terms with Chelsea’s current hierarchy, and the reports suggests Telles will be hoping Zahavi can secure him a big-money move to the Premier League, with Porto willing to let him leave if his £35million release clause is met.

Now the Italian website has claimed that Chelsea are the club that are leading the chase to sign the left-back, as Frank Lampard looks to spend some serious money improving the squad in the summer window.

Look, Chelsea have to focus on getting back on that training ground right now and hope that the season can be finished off so they are able to get back inside the Champions League places for next season.

Then they can worry about possible summer deals. But if they are to make a move and try to get Telles signed up sooner rather than later, he could be a decent buy for the current money that he is going for, and if they are in talks like the report suggests, then it could be another early signing for Chelsea as Telles would not be able to turn down a big move to a massive club like Chelsea.
