Chelsea to ‘activate clause’ and try to sign £300k-a-week star
It has been claimed that Chelsea will look to activate the release clause in the contract of Ousmane Dembele in bid to sign the Barcelona star
Dembele was a target over the summer but they failed to get a deal done as the Spaniards wanted crazy money – and the Frenchman had no intention of leaving the Camp Nou
Graham Potter is a man that knows he needs to start signing players that will help his Chelsea side get competing for all the big trophies – but also keep him at the club for the long-run – and he wants to start signing players like Dembele.
And According to Fichajes, Chelsea will be looking to sign Dembélé again next season.
He has once again emerged on their radar after reports have emerged stating Dembélé has a €50m release clause from next summer onwards – and the reports says Chelsea will be looking to finally secure his signing by triggering the release clause next June
If the report is true and Chelsea could sign Dembele for a cut-priced fee next summer – he would be a fantastic signing for the club – but that is if the reports are true.
Dembele has started to look like his best under the guidance of Xavi – so it will be very hard to convince him to depart the club – especially if he continues to get the game time that he has been receiving
Potter needs to start signing players that will get his side back to that next level – so at the end of the day – players like Dembele will need to get signed
But next summer is a long-time away – there will surely be many more rumours from now until then guys
