Chelsea ANNOUNCE Brazilian deal – Blues pretty much confirm powerhouse moving – Chelsea in talks for £71.2M man
Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip from IcFootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –
Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga over the next few weeks it has been claimed.
After Edouard Mendy departed the club right at the beginning of the transfer window – it was widely expected that Kepa will start the Premier League opener against Liverpool at the weekend.
However, he now faces competition for his spot in Mauricio Pochettino’s side after CHELSEA completed their £25m deal to sign Robert Sanchez from Brighton last week.
And it seems that Bayern Munich are interested in a potential deal.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Bayern had held talks with Brentford for David Raya, but the Spaniard is now on the verge of joining Arsenal after Mikel Arteta’s side, and according to Sport1, they have begun ‘initial talks’ with Chelsea over a deal for Kepa.
The report claims that Thomas Tuchel has personally recommended the Spaniard to Bayern’s hierarchy following their time together at Chelsea.
SHOULD KEPA LEAVE FOR BAYERN?
Look, we have a strong belief that Pochettino will give him a chance to prove himself as the club’s number one this coming season – so it would not make sense to join Bayern this summer, as Manuel Neuer is still number one.
Kepa has waited for this chance for a while now and since he has the opportunity to take it – he should stay put.
However – if Bayern are willing to pay some big money to get a deal done for the Spaniards – then CHELSEA will most definitely try and get that done as they are still keen to keep on trimming the squad.
This has come as a shock this morning that Bayern are keen on the man – but we are not expecting him to depart anytime soon that is for sure.
CHELSEA DROP LUKAKU HINT –
Chelsea have all but confirmed that Romeu Lukaku will be departing the club this summer window.
The 30-year-old striker re-joined CHELSEA in 2021 for a then club record £97.5million deal from Inter Milan after a stunning season with the Italians in which he broke the 30-goal barrier.
However – despite all the hype surrounding his move back to Stamford Bridge – it did not work out like many had hoped for and after just one season at the club – he was ultimately loaned back to the Italian giants.
Now Lukaku wants to leave the club permanently, and the Blues are very keen to make sure that he is sold this transfer window.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
Chelsea released their squad for the upcoming season this week and there was some noticeable omissions from the side.
Lukaku has not reclaimed his No.9 after returning from his loan at Inter Milan, nor have any of the new forwards at Stamford Bridge.
Journalist Paul Brown recently claimed Lukaku wants to leave Chelsea and Chelsea don’t want Lukaku.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, he said: “If Lukaku goes the other way and outscores Vlahovic and wins more things, you’d be thinking why didn’t it work for him at Chelsea? I think the questions would come up again.
“Only time will tell who might get the best deal out of that one, but Lukaku wants to go. The club want to see him out as well, so any deal they can do to facilitate that has got to be a positive, surely.”

CHELSEA need to make sure that they get some good money for the striker and use it for an immediate replacement – but one thing is for certain – he should never have made the move back to London in the first place.
So he is hoping that a new deal can get wrapped up sooner rather than later – as he needs to get ready for the new season in Italy.
CHELSEA CONFIRM GABRIEL MOVE –
Chelsea have announced that summer arrival Angelo Gabriel has joined Strasbourg on loan for the season.
CHELSEA have committed large amounts of spending to the academy since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital arrived last summer, and have brought in some talents that they believe can take the club forward over the next few seasons.
Diego Moreira has joined from Benfica on a free transfer this month while Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez has also signed, though will only join when he turns 18 in 2025.
But despite the fact that Gabriel only arrived at the club this summer – he has now made another transfer switch.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
The blues posted on the club website: ‘Angelo will now continue his development in the French top flight with Strasbourg, who are coached by former Nice and Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira.
‘Good luck, Angelo!
IS THIS THE RIGHT MOVE FOR THE LAD?
We are not sure it is. CHELSEA are a massive club and it will be great for him to be associated – but even Neymar waited until he was ready to come to Europe before making the transfer from Brazil.
He has moved to the Blues believing that he could have a shot in that side this season – but straight away he has been shipped out to Strasbourg.
This will not be the only transfer move that he makes while at Chelsea as we are sure that there will be a few more loan deals before the club make a decision on his chances.
He was developing very nicely at Santos and didnt need to make the move to Europe – but we are just hoping that he does not get lost in that loan system Chelsea like to employ.
