Aaron Anselmino has completed his move to Premier League giants Chelsea – it has been revealed.

Over the past few weeks – CHELSEA have been doing alot of transfer business and  signing some of the games very best and brightest talents as they seek to take the club into a new era.

Anselmino – who joined Boca’s academy aged 12 – signed a new four-year deal in January. The club are said to be well aware of the interest in their youngster and consequently placed a £25m release clause in his contract, but Chelsea have got the lad for far less.

The report states that the 19-year-old defender will stay at Boca Juniors on loan until the end of the year and ESPN add that the Blues are expected to pay £14m for his signature. Ahead of his move to Stamford Bridge, Anselmino said

“Any player dreams of playing in Europe, I can say that I have already fulfilled my first dream,” he told ESPN.

“I saw the grounds, the stadium, everything was very nice. I’m very happy and my family is happy. It would be the nicest thing to win a title with Boca in these months.”

On Enzo Fernández, Anselmino said: “I told him that I admire him a lot and thanked him: hopefully I will be able to meet him soon. It was very good of him, he helped me a lot at that time.”

Anselmino is a very talented young defender that has the ability to be a very classy defender – but again he is a player that the club do not need to spend so much money on right now and a player that could struggle to make an impact on the side.

The CHELSEA board believe that they are signing players that will take the club forward – but that does not mean that talents have to make the move to Stamford Bridge at this stage of their careers.

Anselmino does not need to make the move to Europe right now and does not need to leave his homeland – but we can see why this would be a dream move for the lad and one that he could not turn down.

AKPAN DEAL ANNOUNCED – 

Chelsea have confirmed that midfielder Ashanti Akpan will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Birmingham City of the Women’s Championship.

CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘The 18-year-old, who signed her first professional contract midway through last season, has been at the club since the age of seven and has experienced much success with the Academy, including lifting the FA Youth Cup in 2021/22 and the FA WSL Academy Cup in 2022/23.

‘Akpan made her debut for our senior team back in March 2023 when she came off the bench in a 3-1 FA Cup quarter-final win over Reading.

‘The young midfielder has represented England at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, and featured at this summer’s U19 European Championships in Lithuania, where the Young Lionesses reached the semi-final.

‘She will spend the upcoming campaign on loan in the Championship with Birmingham, who finished fifth in the league last season.

‘Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Ashanti every success during her time with Birmingham City.’

There is so much quality on that CHELSEA womens side that Akpan would have really struggled to get any game time if she made the decision to stay put for this upcoming season.

Birmingham is a great club with a great history and Akpan will get the game time she needs to develop – this is a wonderful decision to make and one that will surely work out in the coming months.

Her dream is to play for Chelsea in the long-run – so she needs to work hard and make sure that she impresses over the next 12 months – Chelsea will be keeping a very close eye on the midfielder.

RABIOT CONFIRMS EXIT – 

Chelsea -linked free agent Adrien Rabiot has broken his silence on his departure from Italian champions Juventus.

It is widely expected that Chelsea will look to sign some more players in the coming weeks after adding a number of talents to the side over the last few weeks, but they need to add some more quality, experience and winning mentality to the side.

Rabiot has been a player that CHELSEA have been linked with for the last few transfer windows – he is a player that is proven at the very highest level of the game and is a player that would bring quality to that Blues midfield.

The midfielder is available on a free after his deal expired at Juventus, and reports on the sun have claimed that he is very interested in a move to the Premier League.

Now the midfielder has broken his silence on Social Media with a message to Juventus – He wrote on Instagram: “After five seasons at Juventus, five years in Turin, I want to say goodbye and thank you.

“All of you who have been there for me. The club and all its staff.

“And you fans, always close and very affectionate!

“Thanks for everything @juventus. Goodbye and good luck.”

Rabiot is a world class midfielder that could be a very good option for Chelsea and the fact he could be signed on a free would be massive for the Blues.

So if Enzo Maresca wants to add some more quality to that CHELSEA midfield – then the Italian should bring the impressive Rabiot to the side over the next couple of weeks – it would be a very good decision to make.

The Frenchman has many options to choose from and if he wants to make the move to the Premier League – Rabiot could be a very good option for Maresca – the board would be foolish not to at least make an offer for the man.
