Rahman and out! Chelsea have officially announced defender deal is signed and sealed

Chelsea have announced left-back Baba Rahman has joined Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims for the rest of the season.

The Ghana international had his loan stint at Schalke 04 cut short earlier this month after managing just two appearances in the Bundesliga this season, and he had hoped that he may get a chance to impress under Maurizio Sarri, with the Italian lacking left-backs at the club.

However, that will not be the case and Rahman has once again been sent out on-loan to get some much needed game time, and will now spend the remainder of the season in the French top flight after the French side announced that a deal had been wrapped up.

The French club Tweeted: “Eh oui, Baba est cool ! #Mercato #WelcomeB

He had initially spent the last two seasons with the Royal Blues but has struggled for form since he recovered from a cruciate ligament injury he suffered during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations outing with Ghana.

Here is what we think.

Rahman has not had the chance to make his case that he could be a Chelsea player since his move to Stamford Bridge and this latest loan out will eventually lead to a permanent move away, as Sarri seemingly has no intentions of using him in the coming seasons.

But the move will be great for his condidence and form as he will have the opportunity to impress potential suitors, as there could be a chance that he joins a club that will give him more of a chance that what he has had at Chelsea.

Rahman is a decent player and the French League is a good chance to shine, as it is nowhere near the level of the Premier League.
