Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is looking to add another defender to his squad in the January transfer window and the Blues have made an enquiry with Brighton about the availability of Lewis Dunk.
It is no secret that Lampard has one of the best young sides in the Premier League, and has proven that he is more than capable of getting the best out of his very young side.
But there has been a feeling for months that the Chelsea boss needs to delve into his transfer kitty and land a few world class, or even top-class players, in key areas of the pitch, with a new defender on the list of the former player.
Now. according to The Times, Chelsea have approached the Seagulls about a possible deal this month for their highly-rated centre-back Dunk
The 28-year-old has been a key part of a Brighton team that currently sit 14th in the table, but has the ninth-best defence in the Premier League.
However, Brighton value him at £50million and if the Blues were to sign Dunk for such a fee, he would become the second most expensive English centre-back of all time, behind only Manchester United’s Harry Maguire.
Chelsea have wrapped up a deal for Norwegian starlet Bryan Fiabema who becomes the club’s first January signing.
Frank Lampard has well over £150 million to spend on new players that will come in and help improve the side in order to get back inside the top four, and then push on to possibly challenge the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City for that Premier League title.
He has been linked with some big-time players, there has been a lot of rumours and speculation about possible deals, but so far, Chelsea fans have been frustrated to see that no one has been signed.
That is until now, as reports have revealed that Lampard has made the decision to wrap up a deal for Norweigian talent Fiabema.
He was given a trial by the Blues, which was successful and the quick and tricky forward is set to be part of the youth side.
Chelsea announced: ‘As confirmed by @arilasos, Bryan Fiabema has signed a three and a half year deal with Chelsea, and it’s now just a case of when the club chooses to announce it. The Norwegian forward will initially join up with the #CFCU18 squad.’
“First and foremost I will play for the Chelsea U18 team,” Fiabema told the Tromso website.
“In addition, I’m going to train a part with the U23 team.
“I will however bring my experiences from TIL through having good routines in everyday life and exercising well. Must focus on what I can do about it and then I think I can do most things.”

The Frenchman’s stock has risen significantly since his £20million move from Celtic last year, having netted 29 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions.
His performances and goals have attracted interested from United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is reportedly keen to add some fire-power to his youthful attack, and reportedly sees Dembele as a very good investment for the club.
