Loftus-Cheek has transfer message for Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal
Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Ruben Loftus-Cheek accepts why there are calls for him to leave Chelsea but says he is intent on staying at Stamford Bridge.
The young Englishman is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe and has been in some impressive form over the last few weeks, scoring a hat-trick in the Europa League fixture against Bate and then netting in the 4-0 smashing at Burnley.
However, there is some speculation and calls for him to depart the club as many believe he will not be given the opportunity to fulfil his potential at Stamford Bridge, especially since Maurizio Sarri has a number of world class options in his midfield already.
But Loftus-Cheek has admitted that he has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge and, and will look to fight for his Chelsea career.
He told Soccer AM: “I hear it a lot, and I can see why people are saying that, because I’m 22 now and haven’t got too many Premier League starts to my name. I haven’t played too many minutes, whether it be in the Premier League and the Championship, and at 22 it’s not seen as enough by some people.
“I do hear it. I love the club and I love Chelsea, I want to play for Chelsea.
“I made a lot of steps last year. Playing football was massive for me and you can see why people want to see me play, and I want to play as well.”
Will Loftus-Cheek be given the opportunities he deserves at Chelsea?
Sarri has the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, Willian and Ross Barkley already in his squad and that means Loftus-Cheek will have to put in a number of impressive performances to even get a seat on the bench at Stamford Bridge.
It is nice to see that a talent wants to stay at one of the biggest Premier league clubs and fight to be a regular starter, but the less he plays the less he will develop and eventually he will become one of those youngsters that never reached the heights he needed too.
So if he wants to become a top-class player then he needs to leave Chelsea, as Liverpool and Arsenal would give him the opportunities in midfield he needs, with both clubs on the look-out for someone that will add something different to the side.
