Chelsea have made contact in bid to land exciting Spaniard valued at over £200 million

Chelsea have reportedly submitted an enquiry for Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio.

The transfer window is just a few days away from closing and it looks like Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will not be able to sign the players that he would like to add to his squad.

That means that the German may start planning for the summer transfer window and freshening up a squad that has been unable to reach the levels of performance that led them to the Champions League title last season

And that has led to reports emerging from Spain that they are very much interested in making a transfer move for the impressive Asensio.

The Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu and according to Defensa Central, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are in the race for his services.

And the reports adds that Chelsea have already made contact with Madrid, reportedly, and enquired as to whether they would be interested in letting the attacker leave the Bernabeu.

However, it is reported that Real Madrid will only make a call on his future in the summer instead of a January sale.

Chelsea have one of the best squads in the game so they should be signing players who will improve the squad enough to make them good enough to beat Manchester City. But is Asensio the type of player that will actually improve the squad.

But he would be an interesting signing for Chelsea.
