There has been some shock reports which have revealed that Chelsea and Bayern Munich have held talks over a potential deal for Levi Colwill.

Colwill is now regarded as one of the most exciting young defenders in the Premier League, and a player that former Mauricio Pochettino had big plans for during his stay at the club this season.

The 21-year-old defender, who can operate at centre-back and left-back enjoyed a breakthrough season at CHELSEA, making 32 appearances in all competitions and was expected to partner Tosin Adarabioyo in that defence for Enzo Maresca.

However – He has done enough to attract the attention of Bayern Munich, who are considering making an offer for him this summer, reports Sky Sports Germany after initial talks with Chelsea over a potential deal.

The reports claims that Colwill is not first choice for Vincent Kompany’s side this summer transfer window as the former Burnley boss is keen to improve that back-line over the course of the window.

But Chelsea are under no such contractual pressure to sell Colwill, with his contract at Stamford Bridge running until 2029, having signed an epic extension last year and will demand top money to allow him to leave.

There is no doubt that Colwill is a quality defender that has all the potential to develop into a top class defender over the next few years – so the news that talks have been held over a possible transfer is mad.

That CHELSEA board would be mad to lose one of the best young defenders in the Premier League at a time when players of his calibre are costing upwards of £60 million.

We are sure that this is just a rumour as the Blues will surely not want to lose such a gifted young player.
