£400,000-a-week superstar Cavani exit confirmed as possible move to Chelsea to happen after message sent?
Chelsea target Edinson Cavani has addressed his future in an interview with Paris Saint-Germain’s official magazine, and he is leaving his options open.
As we have said before, the whole world is gripped by the Coronavirus outbreak that is stopping everything from running smoothly, killing thousands and stopping us from enjoying the game we love on a weekly basis.
But that has not stopped speculation in the media about possible incomings and out-goings in the summer transfer window, with a number of world class players linked with a move to Chelsea and a number of fringe players linked with a move away.
Chelsea may have the likes of Tammy Abraham up top, but there is alot of speculation that the likes of Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi may leave the club in the summer, meaning that Chelsea will need to find an adequate replacement.
Now, amid all the speculation, he has spoken out about his future on the PSG magazine: “My career will last for maybe several years still, here or elsewhere, I don’t know,” he said.
“I’ve spoken about it a lot with my entourage. I’ve always said that I would like to quit football rather than football quitting me. “I’d really like to finish having given everything. To get to that point where I’d say, ‘Guys, this is the point where I have to go.’
“I don’t want life to lead me to play when I wouldn’t be capable of giving my best. The day will come where it will be obvious that the time’s come to move on to something else.”
Cavani may not be the same striker that he was just a few seasons ago, but the man is still world class and if there is a chance to get him on the books, Chelsea should definitely take it.
He is a very good short-term solution to their long-term problems, and he would also have some much needed advice to help Abraham develop into that top-class striker that many of us are hoping that he becomes.
So it will be interesting to see just where he ends up guys.
