Announcement made as Chelsea announce and seal sumer deal for £40 million midfielder Bakayoko
Chelsea have confirmed that midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has agreed back to Monaco on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The midfielder spent 2018/19 on loan at AC Milan and despite his good moments, his time in Italy ended badly after being victim of racist abuse by a group of Lazio fans.
However, there has been a lot of transfer speculation in the media over the past few months which suggested that French giants Monaco may be interested in trying to take him to Ligue 1 this summer, with an offer of a loan deal on the cards.
And after a few weeks of talks and negotiations, Chelsea have revealed that he will indeed be leaving the club once again and heading back to Monaco for the next 12 months.
He follows the likes of Wissam Ben Yedder, Gelson Martins, Benjamin Lecomte and Islam Slimani in moving to Monaco and will reunite with former Chelsea colleague Cesc Fabregas.
Speaking after Chelsea’s draw with Sheffield United, Frank Lampard said on the Metro website: ‘Bakayoko similarly was here for one season, went on loan and going on loan again to try to bring himself back to where he wants to be.’
Is this man going to save Chelsea millions in transfer fees?

Lampard has seen what kind of quality he has this transfer window and clearly believes that Bakayoko is not worth the hassle, and selling him would be a big message to many of the Chelsea team.
Lampard has some very exciting talents at the club and they need to be given a real chance, so the news that a player that would take up a place in the first team squad is going will be great news for them.
Plus a move away gives Bakayoko a chance to reignite his career as he is done at Stamford Bridge and will never become a first-team regular in the side.
So many will wish him the best and many will also be hoping that he never makes that return to the club.
