Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today…

CHELSEA have officially confirmed that young defender Aaron Anselmino has been recalled from his loan spell at Boca Juniors, and he will now link up with his new team-mates next week.

Anselmino was being touted as a potential superstar after his maiden season as a senior professional at Boca Juniors. His performance in the 2023-24 campaign grabbed the attention of Chelsea recruiters, who wasted no time in sealing a transfer for the young defender for just £17 million ($22m) in the summer.

The player, who has committed to move to Stamford Bridge on a seven-year deal, immediately returned to the Argentine club on loan at least until January 2025, and has continued to impress over in his homeland

CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘The Argentine defender joined the Blues from Boca in August, penning a long-term deal, before heading back to La Bombonera on loan to continue his development.

‘Aaron made 18 appearances for Boca across all competitions during his loan spell and became a regular in the backline.

‘Welcome back to Chelsea, Aaron!’

Anselmino certainly wasn’t expecting the call, admitting that he hadn’t seen it coming when he spoke to ESPN in the airport.

“I always felt the love of the fans with me. This year I had to get injured often (four times). God willing that I come back one day. It’s my home and it’s a crazy thing that can’t be seen anywhere,” he said.

“Everything happened to me quickly, very suddenly. I was in the National Team and I didn’t know if I had to travel or stay. They told me that they wanted to have me in their ranks.

“I spoke with Román (Riquelme-Boca president) on the day of the sale. He called me on the phone and congratulated me. He is a person that I respect and admire a lot,

“(I’m) happy for this new opportunity. It is something dreamed of for anyone. I am very excited.”

CHALOBAH WANTED

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has suggested he would like to permanently sign Trevoh Chalobah from CHELSEA at some point as the Englishman has impressed during his spell at the club

Chalobah, who made 80 appearances for boyhood club Chelsea over the past three seasons, still has over four years left on his contract, but ;ast summer, Enzo Maresca told Chalobah he had no future at Stamford Bridge but was unable to sell him, and Ultimately, Palace signed him on a season-long loan on deadline day.

So far, the loan has been very productive with Chalobah forming a great defensive partnership alongside Marc Guehi and Maxence Lacroix, and he’s proven himself to be a threat at set-pieces, scoring three goals.

The Austrian coach could not hide his delight with the loanee’s impact, and has now admitted that he would like to do a deal with the Blues, saying: ‘A deal happens if three parties are happy with it: the two clubs and the player.

‘If all parties want to have a deal, and agree, it will happen. He’s doing really well for us and we were very consistent in our defensive line.

‘Trevoh has now scored three goals but we always say that is extra for a defender. He has three, Lacroix has one, Guehi has two.

‘Add Daniel Munoz and we have eight from our back-five. This is 40 per cent of the goals we scored and it’s very important that we have defenders who can score goals.’

Chalobah is now at a club that is willing to give him the game time he wants, the love that he needs and a coach that wants him to stay, so we are sure that both clubs can come to an agreement.

£25 million is not alot of money for a player these days, even for Palace.

COLE MAKES CHELSEA ADMISSION

Ashley Cole says being ‘disrespected’ and ‘shafted’ by Arsenal during contract negotiations and that is why he made the decision to move across London and join bitter rivals CHELSEA.

After coming through Arsenal’s academy, Cole made over 200 first-team appearances for his boyhood club, lifting two Premier League trophies and three FA Cups.

After his acrimonious departure from Arsenal, Cole went on to enjoy even more success at Chelsea, helping the Blues win another Premier League trophy, four more FA Cups, the Europa League and the Champions League

Arsenal wanted Cole to extend his stay at the club but the defender says he was ‘shafted’ after being offered a less lucrative contract than he was ‘promised’, and he has admitted that he felt ‘disrespected’ by the Gunners and as a result joined CHELSEA on a contract worth more than £100,000-a-week.

‘My situation was I knew what I was worth,’ Cole said on That Peter Crouch Podcast. ‘If you don’t want to pay it, no problem.

‘But we did agree to pay it. Everything was agreed and then they pulled the rug [from] under me. They broke their promise – I couldn’t tell you why.

‘It was hard [to leave]. People [don’t] understand the pressure that I was under to leave or to stay.

‘Ultimately I felt disrespected, this is my point of view, I felt disrespected.

‘It is what it is, but sometimes when I speak to fans [and they say], “You left, you hurt me”, I’m like, “Hold up”. People don’t realise that I was the one who got hurt the most.

‘That was my boyhood club, I’d been living the dream. But I got shafted. ‘It wasn’t that I felt I wasn’t getting looked after because I was a young player. I didn’t ask for [Thierry] Henry’s or [Patrick] Vieira’s [wages]. I didn’t want that.

‘I was nothing to do with them. I just knew what I was worth and they broke their promise. I look back and I was bitter. In my head I was going, “You put me through some s***”. And they just went like, “Ash, you deal with it, and it’s nothing to do with us.”

‘I think [former Arsenal vice-chairman] David Dein came out and mentioned something recently. But it took him like 20 years.

‘For 20 years I got abused. But I don’t blame the fans. I understand their frustration. They didn’t know the full facts, they didn’t know the truth.’
