Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you may have missed today guys –

Chelsea have reportedly agreed to sign Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders – but the young stopper will not make a move to Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2025 after agreeing that move to the Premier League giants.

CHELSEA have been making alot of transfer moves once again this season to sign some of the best talents in the game and Penders is the latest name to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

the young Belgian only made his debut for Genk towards the back end of last season, but he has impressed so much that Chelsea are ready to pay some big money in order to get a deal done, and then offer the lad a massive contract to sign up too.

Penders is expected to sign a contract until 2032, but he will stay with his current club Genk on loan this season It means the teenager will officially join up with the Blues squad next summer.

Chelsea have already signed Filip Jorgensen to compete with Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic this campaign, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the stopper will join for a fee worth up to £17m on a long-term deal. However, he will spend the coming season at Genk, before heading to Stamford Bridge next June.

Penders is a great young talent – but at the end of the day he is another player that the club do not need to sign right now – this is another waste of £17 million that could have gone towards a big named signing.

CHELSEA fans are surely wondering what the hell is going on because all these signings will not make much of a difference for the next couple of seasons – Penders will be happy  -but it could be the wrong move to make at this stage of his career.

GALLAS SURPRISED AT JORGSENSEN DEAL –

Former Chelsea star William Gallas has been surprised with some of the transfer business at the Bridge, notably the signing of a new goalkeeper in Filip Jorgensen who arrived from Villarreal for just over £20m just a few weeks ago.

Chelsea’s giant squad already includes goalkeepers Robert Sanchez, Djorde Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli, but the board made the decision to splash the cash and bring in Jorgensen after an impressive season in the Spanish League.

He is one of a number of signings the CHELSEA board have been making this summer window and many fans have bene left stunned at the amount of signings that have been made and the quality of players that have agreed moves to London.

And although Jorgensen is a decent player – the Frenchman stunned that the sporting directors wanted another stopper: ‘I’m speechless,’ Gallas told Lord Ping. ‘What can I say about Chelsea signing another goalkeeper, why are they doing it? What for? Why do they think they need another goalkeeper?

‘It’s ridiculous, they have spent so much money and are still spending more. It’s sending a message to their current goalkeepers that they aren’t good enough. Chelsea should be looking at experienced defenders and a striker, that’s what they need to focus on.’

Jorgensen is a very good young stopper and one for the future – but he was a player that the club did not need to sign and they probably did because they wanted to sell him on for a bit of money in the future.

The transfer plan of that board is bonkers and w are shocked to see all these players coming in that will not make much of a difference in the side – so much money has been spent – but can CHELSEA fans even name half the signings that have been brought to the club?

HUMPHRIES DEAL ANNOUNCED –

Chelsea have confirmed defender Greta Humphries will spend the 2024/25 season on loan at Women’s Championship outfit Bristol City.

CHELSEA posted on the club website: ‘The 19-year-old, who signed her first professional contract with the Blues earlier this summer, will get her first taste of competitive senior action when she joins Lauren Smith’s side for the upcoming campaign.’Humphries has spent two years with the Chelsea academy since joining from Tottenham Hotspur. During her time at the club so far, the ball-playing centre-back won the FA WSL Academy Cup in 2022/23 and enjoyed an excellent 2023/24 season when she impressed with consistent performances.

‘Everyone at Chelsea would like to wish Greta every success during her time with Bristol City. ‘

Chelsea have a number of very young players that are not developing sitting on the bench or in the younger sides anymore – and that is why they are sending all these players out on loan.

The board have a plan and Humphries is a player that they probably believe could be part of the side in the coming seasons, so this move to City is a very good decision to make as she will get the game time that she needs.

The new season is just around the corner and CHELSEA will be hoping to win that WSL title once again – Humphries wanted to be part of that, but again, she will not develop sitting on the bench every week – this is a very good move for the defender to make.

She is surely very happy about this.
