Sandro-contract offer, Sarri-Hazard message, Kante claim, Rashford told to leave in Chelsea Wednesday
Here is a roundup of todays Chelsea news, gossip and transfer news from icfootballnews.com.
Garth Crooks has claimed Jose Mourinho is ‘killing’ Chelsea target Marcus Rashford and the England forward ‘must’ leave Manchester United to save his career.
Rashford burst onto the scene at Old Trafford a few seasons ago and immediately became a real fans favourite at the club, and is also regarded as one of the best young talents in world football.
But over the last 12 months there has been a change in confidence for Rashford, as the youngster does not look like the exciting and skilful winger that got United fans off his feet, and under the guidance of Mourinho, his development is heading backwards, not forwards.
That has led to some speculation that Chelsea could make a surprise move for Rashford in the coming windows, as Maurizio Sarri needs to replace Eden Hazard when he departs the club and is a huge fan of the talented Englishman.
Now Crooks has claimed Mourinho is killing the talented young man, telling the BBC sport website: ‘This really can’t go on. Jose Mourinho is killing Marcus Rashford.
‘The lad pulled Manchester United from the jaws of defeat at Southampton and then Jose gave the one man who was desperate to win the game for him the hook? It made no sense.
The kid was on a roll and anyone who has played the game could see that. Mourinho may have won trophies but he destroys players in the process.
‘He is doing to Rashford what he did to Arjen Robben at Chelsea. Rashford must get out of United now before what little confidence he has left is destroyed.’ (READ MORE)
Juventus star Alex Sandro has a €10m-a-year contract offer to make a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea chasing the full-back.
Regarded as one of the finest full-backs in Europe, Sandro has been linked with a shock move to Stamford Bride after reports emerged which claimed Maurizio Sarri is keen to spend £200 million in the January window on improving his squad.
The Blues are facing a transfer window ban for their transfer dealings of under-age talents and Sarri is keen to get his business done before they simply cannot buy anymore players.
Juve are reportedly demanding a fee of around €60million (£53m) from potential suitors for Sandro which Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay, and would sell in January if they found an adequate replacement.
And reports on the Calciomercato website have now claimed Sandro has received a €10m-a-year (£8.9m) offer from an unnamed Premier League club, with Chelsea just one of two clubs seeking to seal a January deal.
Sandro recently has admitted he has a dream to play in the Premier League.
Asked about playing in England while on international duty with Brazil, Sandro said on the TMW website: ‘I think, one day, who knows what will happen?
‘I have a desire to play in the Premier League but right now I am very happy where I am at, the club I am at [Juventus], the league I am playing in.
‘So today my only thought is to continue where I am because that’s where I feel happy.’ (READ MORE)
Maurizio Sarri says there is a contract on the table at Chelsea for Eden Hazard to sign.
It is no secret that Hazard was heavily tipped to leave the club last summer and head over to Spanish giants Real Madrid in a deal worth around £200 million, only for the Italian to convince him to stay for another season.
However, the Belgian superstar has dreams to win the Champions league and Ballon D’or titles and reportedly believes that his best chance will be in la Liga, meaning he will wait until the end of the season to decide on whether or not to sign a new contract.
But despite that fact, Sarri has told his star man that a new contract is there to be signed, if he wants to end his top-level playing days at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri told Sky Sports: “The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not.
“I want Eden here, of course, but I want him here if he wants to stay here.” (READ MORE)
Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard is backing N’Golo Kante to adapt to the new position which Maurizio Sarri has given him at Stamford Bridge this season.
Kante has emerged as the best holding midfielder in world football since his move to Chelsea a few seasons ago, and has made a very good living at protecting the back-line, breaking up play and being the 12th man on the pitch.
But Sarri brought in Jorginho during the summer transfer window and decided that the Italian was a better fit to play that deeper, holding role that Kante has bee occupying for a few years now.
His decision to play Jorginho there and Kante in a wider role has divided many in the media, as some believe that Sarri is wasting the ability of Kante by playing him in a more attacking role.
But Hazard believes Kante is a ‘clever’ player and believes the 27-year-old will adjust under Sarri.
‘He’s very important, believe me,’ Hazard told Chelsea’s official website.
‘The way the manager wants him to play is a bit different to last year and two years ago, but I think he can adapt.
‘He’s clever on the pitch and in midfield he’s one of the best in the world, we all know that. ‘He’s won almost everything so we need him and he will show the best of N’Golo soon.
