Chelsea Daily! Sarri to hijack Pepe deal, Wilson wanted, Fekir move, Blues should sign Kane

Here is the daily roundup of Chelsea headlines, news and transfer gossip from Wednesday!

Reports have claimed Chelsea are ready to hijack any possible hope Arsenal have of signing Lille striker Nicolas Pepe in the coming transfer windows.

Despite spending over £70 million in the summer transfer window, Gunners boss Unai Emery still has a lot of work to do if he wants to transform his current Arsenal side into a top four side and is expected to delve into the kitty in the winter window to continue his rebuilding of the side.

And reports on Telefoot have claimed Emery has been alerted to the potential of Pepe after some impressive performances this season and is ready to make a move this January.

Pepe is valued at roughly £30m (A$54m) and is seemingly open to the idea of leaving and signing for a big club, at the end of the season, telling Telefoot: ‘A preference between Dortmund, Bayern or Arsenal? They’re all big clubs, I was not aware of these rumours, although it’s nice,’

‘Leave Lille at the end of the season? We do not even know what I’ll be doing tomorrow!’

However, reports also claim that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is ready to hijack any potential move for the attacker, as he also looks to bolster his squad in the coming transfer windows.

Despite his recent good form, there is still some doubt about the qualities of Spanish striker Alvaro Morata and his ability to score goals on a regular basis, while partner Olivier Giroud is struggling to even find the net. (Read full article)

Some shock reports have emerged which have claimed Chelsea are lining up a January move for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.

Wilson has been in sensational form this term, scoring seven goals and providing four further assists, having overcome the effects of two serious knee ligament injuries in the last three years.

It is a contrast to the fortunes of Chelsea’s current front-two, who are struggling in front of goal this season. Olivier Giroud has started a number of games for the Blues but has so far failed to score, while Alvaro Morata has only recently started finding the net for Chelsea, netting five-goals in his last six games.

And with Maurizio Sarri looking to mount a serious challenge for the Premier League and Europa League titles this season, the Daily Mirror website have claimed the Italian boss has had scouts watch Wilson on a number of occasions as he ponders a January move.

The 26-year-old signed a new long-term contract in the summer and recently netted his 50th goal for the club whom he joined from Coventry back in 2014.

‘It’s nice to make that achievement. I should have had it a lot sooner,’ he said, reacting to that achievement.

‘Now I am looking upwards, I am trying to get 100 goals. Why not make another landmark for the club? ‘Any striker wants to score as many goals as possible for their club and I’m the same.

‘Day by day, I am trying to become the finished article. I don’t think you can ever stop improving.’ (Click for full article)

Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea are still interested in signing Lyon star and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir.

Fekir become one of the most talked about midfielders in Europe after a stunning season with Lyon last year in which he netted 21-goals in all competitions.

That led to speculation he was all set to make the move to the premier League and Liverpool in particular, with a fee agreed between both clubs, a shirt number picked out and Fekir arriving for his medical to be part of Jurgen Klopp’s revolution.

However, Liverpool pulled the plug on a £62 million deal as they were worried about a long-term knee injury, which Fekir has seemingly got over and the Frenchman stayed at Lyon and helped his nation win the World Cup in Russia.

But after another impressive start to the new season, there has been reports on the L’Equipe website claimed Chelsea are ready to battle Bayern Munich for the signature of Fekir, as a possible replacement for star man Eden Hazard.

It is no secret that the right offer will convince Hazard into leaving Chelsea at the end of the season, with Madrid reportedly ready to hand the Belgian his dream move to the Bernabeu in a deal worth around £200 million, as the Spaniards are desperate to revamp the squad add a fresh batch of galacticos to the side after a disappointing start to the new season.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed earlier in the season that there was contact with Chelsea over a possible deal for Fekir, but they decided to keep hold of the Frenchman after the Blues failed to make an official move for the 21-goal midfielder.

‘In the beginning, when we thought about our summer transfer window and how to organise the future squad, we thought that he was practically gone,’ Aulus said.

‘That’s why we have been able to adapt things.

‘We spoke with Chelsea representatives, and they had no interest at all in him.

‘From then on, we realised we could change our plans (as Nabil would stay).’ (Read full article)

There has been some reports which have claimed Chelsea are lining up a move for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson, but they should really be looking to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

However, Chelsea have a transfer kitty that can match any side around Europe and they have the ability to splash £200 million on just one player, and then a few more million to improve other key areas of the pitch.

So rather than go for the likes of Wilson, Gonzalo Higuain or even Mauro Icardi, Sarri should try and convince the Blues hierarchy to splash the cash and land Kane from Spurs.

Kane is one of the best strikers on the planet, not just the Premier League and will guarantee Sarri 30-plus goals a season, something the Blues have been missing for a number of years. (Read full article)
