Massimiliano Allegri says Juventus “will be ready” if centre-back Matthijs de Ligt leaves the club this summer

It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel has some real issues in that back-line this summer after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to Spanish football

So far Chelsea have been unable to sign the players that they would like – so there has just been alit of speculation and rumours about what is going on -which is frustrating the Blues fans

But it seems that De Ligt is one of the clubs top transfer targets this summer after reports emerged suggesting that he is open to the idea of leaving Juventus after failing to win the trophies that he would like

And amid all the speculation that he could be leaving the Italian giants – Allegri says Juventus “will be ready” if the defender does actually decide to depart the club in the coming weeks

“He’s a Juventus player at the moment,” the head coach told a press conference on Tuesday. “In football everything can happen, if he’s about to leave the club will be ready (with a replacement).”

Previously, club CEO Maurizio Arrivabene struck a less hopeful tone, telling Tuttosport: “Today, keeping a player who wants to leave is impossible. It’s not always about the money and if one wants to go, you don’t just tell him: ok, go ahead.

“It’s hard to keep a player, but all those sitting at the table of negotiations must be satisfied. Who has the money wins.”

De Ligt is one of the very best defenders on the game and if Chelsea do manage to sign the player – he really will be a massive signing for the club and certainly a player that would improve the back-line

It will be interesting to see how this plays out – but fans would love this guy to sign
