Chelsea ‘have put contract on the table’ for World class Frenchman
Chelsea have put a contract offer to Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele, reports from Spain have claimed over the past 24 hours
The France forward, 24, has failed to agree a new contract at the Nou Camp, with his current deal set to expire this summer, and that has led to alot of speculation that he could come to the Premier League
Chelsea were very much interested in getting some kind of transfer deal done, especially after the Spanish club told him he could leave in the January transfer window after failing to agree that new contract.
The Blues may not have a new owner just yet – but it is still expected that players will be signed during the summer transfer window and a contract will be handed to Dembele
And amid all the speculation about his future – It appears that the ball is in the French winger’s court regarding a renewal as Barca boss Xavi has addressed the current situation of the midfielder heading into the summer window.
He said: “I see him very happy and very involved,” the boss asserted. “I have no complaints about him. It depends on him, that’s clear. He plays at a high level and if he works hard he can be the best in the world in his position.
“In addition, he is making a difference. For the way I want to play, he’s very good.”
Now IcFootballnews has learned that Chelsea have now made their moves to try and get a transfer deal done and have put a contract offer on the table
Terms from Stamford Bridge for the World Cup-winning forward fall short of an approach from Paris Saint-Germain, though, and it remains to be seen where a France international will be plying his trade in 2022-23.
