Giants told to drive £284k-a-week star to airport and let him leave – Arsenal interested

Chelsea should “drive Timo Werner to the airport” and let him go this summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor – with reports that Arsenal are interested
Werner has scored 23 times and provided a further 21 assists in 89 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea since his initial move from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020 – but he has not scored the goals that the club needed him too
Chelsea paid big money believing that they would be signing a striker that could bang in goals on a weekly basis – but he has not managed that and there has been some speculation that he is all set to depart the club
ArsenalFC have become the latest club to be linked with a sensational move for the German – as Mikel Arteta wants to carry on spending for the rest of the transfer window and keep adding to the squad
But despite the Gunners interest – Agbonlahor has opened up and told Chelsea that they should drive Werner to the airport and let him leave – as he is not good enough for the Premier League
“Werner, they should drive him to the airport because he’s nowhere near good enough for the Premier League,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider
“That’s why Newcastle haven’t tried to get him or any Premier League clubs have tried to get him.
“Especially with the wages that he might be on and the loan fee.
“He’s very quick but he hasn’t got the composure in front of goal, he just doesn’t look like he’s got the confidence.
“Sometimes leagues don’t suit you. There have been lots of players who have come to the Premier League and struggled, he’s not the first.
“Maybe another league will suit him.”

It has been a shame to see that he cannot adapt to the quality of the Premier League – it has been a shock to see that ArsenalFC are interested in a deal – but it would not be a shock or a surprise to see him leave
He is clearly not happy and should move on – ChelseaFC should then use the funds to buy a top-class forward
