Poch opens up and confirms interest in £70 million rated Chelsea target Eriksen
Long-term Chelsea target Christian Eriksen is attracting “a lot of interest,” according to Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Eriksen has become a vital part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side over the past few seasons and is one of the creative reasons why they score so many goals throughout the course of the season, but there has been speculation that he could leave the club.
It is believed that the Danish star has refused three contract offers from Spurs over the past few months, with the latest reportedly close to the £110,000-a-week mark, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Barcelona all keeping a close eye.
It is no secret that Chelsea have long admired the ability of Eriksen and could have made a move this summer if they were able to acquire players during this transfer window, but with the ban still in place, they are unable to make a firm offer for the midfielder.
But it seems that will have to battle for the midfielders signature as Pochettino has confirmed that there is a lot of interest in Eriksen, telling the Sky Sports website: “I hope he will [stay].
“I think he is a great player, Christian. One of the biggest talents in football. After five years working with him, I am sure in the way that he plays, and I hope so, yes.
“But you know, there is a lot of interest. I hope yes, but I don’t know what is going to happen with that.”
Eriksen is a man that is hit and miss and many Spurs fans would love to see him leave, and replaced by a midfielder that is more influential in the big games.
Chelsea could have been a great move for the player as he could have slotted into Frank Lampard’s side very easily, but it will be interesting to see just where he ends up this summer, as he is surely set to leave the club?
