£40M star to get late January move after Chelsea open shock talks to get deal done

Everton are in talks with Chelsea over a deal for Conor Gallagher – it has been claimed in the media this week.

Chelsea have been so active in the transfer market that they have managed to pretty much buy a whole new team – while also spend over £200 million on players that will be stars of the future.

That means that players like Gallagher may not longer be needed at Stamford Bridge as there will simply not be any space for him – and now Sky Sports News has been told Everton have indicated a willingness to pay £40m plus £5m in add-ons to sign him permanently.

At this point, everything is on the table for Gallagher – a loan, a permanent switch or staying at Chelsea, but a move away is more likely if the Blues complete a deal for Benfica midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

But Gallagher is not interested in a move to Everton. It is believed there has been a bid but the player has interest from multiple other clubs. Newcastle and Crystal Palace also admire Gallagher.

Sky Sports News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol said:

Chelsea have brought in a lot of players this month and they need to let players go before the deadline closes.

“One of the players that could leave is Conor Gallagher. The situation as far as he is concerned is that Everton have made it clear that they are willing to pay £40m for him plus £5m in add-ons.

“But the latest information that we are receiving is that Gallagher does not want to go to Everton, at the moment.

“He has lots of other interest, clubs in the Premier League and in Europe trying to sign him on loan and permanent deals.

Gallagher is a special talent that should not be sitting on the bench – so even though Everton are fighting for their Premier League survival – it could be a great move for the man
