Boehly message sent after Chelsea submit €100 million plus star to complete deal
Alan Hutton has urged Chelsea against signing Enzo Fernandez after they reportedly made an offer for the player
The transfer window has been open for some time now and Chelsea have signed a whole bunch of players that have improved key areas of the pitch – and some players that are for the future
But Fernandez has been heavily linked with a big move ever since his outstanding 2022 World Cup performances, which helped Argentina win the title, and he is a player that Chelsea really admire.
Benfica successfully rebuffed the Blues’ initial attempts to sign the midfielder – after they reportedly submitted a fee of £80 million earlier this transfer window – but they are now heading back in
According to Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb, Chelsea have proposed Benfica €100 million in cash plus Hakim Ziyech to sign the World Cup winner.
However – amid all the speculation that Chelsea are keen on a transfer deal for the man – Chelsea have been urged to not complete a move for the World Cup winner this January
Hutton told Football Insider: “We know they had a massive injury list, their top stars for their team were out. For them to come back, the signings that they have already made, the problem is how do you keep them all happy?
“People are going to have to leave. If you are adding another £100million-plus player to that, it is crazy.
“It is a lot of money being spent but a lot of pressure comes with that on Graham Potter to pick the right formation, the right team and get results. It is a difficult job.“
