Chelsea reports have claimed Chelsea are now free to sign talented Dani Olmo
Chelsea are ready to spend big money during this transfer window in order to get their side back on track for a top four spot and maybe some silverware, as Frank Lampard has seen his side drops a number of points over the past few weeks.
And that has led to a lot of speculation about whom could come in to help the Chelsea legend gain success, with Dinamo Zagreb star Olmo now on the shopping list of the Blues coach, after impressing this season.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of Spain’s best young prospects having been developed by Barcelona’s academy before joining Dinamo Zagreb in 2014, with the midfielder scoring eight goals and registering seven assists in 22 appearances for the Croatian side this season
Mundo Deportivo claim Barcelona have withdrawn their interest in the young man – handing the Premier League giants a free run at completing a deal for Olmo for a fee of around £34 million.
The midfielder recently indicated that he would be willing to move to the Premier League this month
‘I am at the best of in short career and I feel great,’ Olmo said in an interview with L’Esportiu.
‘Maybe the ideal time to leave the Dinamo would have been last summer, but no offers came.’ Asked if he would prefer to leave in the January transfer window or wait until the end of the season, Olmo replied: ‘I don’t know, it’s a matter of my representatives.
‘But if there is an understanding between the clubs, I think the best thing for everyone is to leave Zagreb now.
‘Dinamo would get a good transfer [fee] and I would play in one of the biggest teams in the world, in one of the five best leagues. My goal is to go to the European Championship [with Spain] and it will be difficult for me if in the next six months I’m only playing in a smaller league, like the one in Croatia.
‘I want to take a step forward. And not only to go to the Euro, but also to keep improving. It’s not that I’m being offered, it’s just that I’m ready to take a step forward in my career.
‘They [Dinamo] are open to hearing offers and they have passed it to us.
‘We all want the best for everyone. We don’t want to hurt the club.’
WIll Chelsea fans be seeing Moussa Dembele make the big money move to Stamford Bridge?
The Frenchman’s stock has risen significantly since his £20million move from Celtic last year, having netted 29 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions.
His performances and goals have attracted interested from Chelsea BOSS Frank Lampard, who is reportedly keen to add some fire-power to his youthful attack, and reportedly sees Dembele as a very good investment for the club.
And we have a big update on a possible January deal, ENJOY THE VIDEO BELOW GUYS.
Pundit Steve Nicol has backed Chelsea to wrap up a January deal for Brighton defender Lewis Dunk.
The Blues are looking for reinforcements in defence and see the Seagulls centre-back as a viable alternative to Antonio Rudiger, Fikayo Tomori, Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen.
Frank Lampard’s side have struggled at the back but have a big budget to work with after their transfer ban and reports in the media have claimed that the Blues are lining up a mega money move for Dunk.
And speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol has claimed the signing of Dunk could make the same kind of impact that Virgil Van Dijk made after he signed for Liverpool.
“Look what Van Dijk has done for Liverpool… I have no problem [with big-money signings],” he said.
“The prices seem steep at the time, but if you’re telling me Lewis Dunk is going to cost £50million… those clubs have done some good business with what they’ve signed.
“Chelsea right now need players to come in and hit the ground running.
“If you go out and get someone from outside the Premier League, you’re not quite sure what you’re going to get.
“You know Lewis Dunk is going to be reliable, he’s going to be strong, he’s not gonna be flashy. You know exactly what you’re going to get.
“He’s experienced, he’s 28-years-old, he’s in his prime, it wouldn’t be a bad signing.
“I think they need strengthening, but still, £50million seems a little pricey.”
