Fans told brilliant Chelsea January signing ‘is the real deal’

Steven Gerrard believes Mykhailo Mudryk ‘looks the real deal’ after his impressive debut for Chelsea in their goalless draw with Liverpool on Saturday.

Mudryk was unveiled as Chelsea’s latest signing at Stamford Bridge last weekend and has been training with his new team-mates this week ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

And after seeing the winger make the move to Stamford Bridge and his performances against Liverpool at the weekend – Gerrard has opened up and claimed that Mudryk looks like the real deal

‘If I’m a Chelsea fan I would be extremely excited by Mudryk,’ Gerrard told BT Sport after the game.

‘I thought that was a very strong cameo. If he’s not fit and there’s more to come from him, then that’s really exciting. He looks the real deal.

‘He reminded me a bit of [Arjen] Robben. His footwork and how quick he is, I would be very excited.’

Mudryk showed some glimpses as to why he was so in demand this transfer window – and why Chelsea splashed so much cash to get a transfer deal done.

Fans are excited to see just what he brings to the club as they have been missing an exciting winger for some time now – he really looks like a lad that can develop into a real star.

It will not be interesting to see just how he copes for the rest of the season – especially as the British media will get on his case and try to throw him off his game.

But good start and looks like a good signing.
