Bayern Munich send Chelsea £63 million transfer James message as Sarri wants superstar

Bayern Munich have now told chasing Chelsea that they intend to keep on-loan Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

Rodriguez is currently coming towards the end of his two-year loan spell with Bayern and there were some suggestions that they had no intention of offering him a permanent move to the Bundesliga, as he had not impressed as many had hoped.

That had led to speculation that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was looking to step in and offer the Colombian a move to the premier League, as he needs to find players that will help fill the void if Eden Hazard leaves for the club at the end of the season.

But despite rumours that Bayern are not willing to hand him a permanent deal, the Germans now intend to sign him on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.

“The option that we have, we have to exercise by June 15th,” Rummenigge told Abendzeitung.

“So we still have plenty of time. But I have to make it quite clear that everyone here is happy with him. I firmly believe that James will also play for FC Bayern next season.”

Here is what we think

Rodriguez is an absolute superstar of the game and landing him would be a massive statement for Chelsea if they could tempt him away from the Germans in the summer transfer window, so if there is a doubt that Bayern will hand him a new contract then Chelsea should swoop in and try to get a transfer deal done.

The Colombian is world class and just teh type of plauyer that could help get the side challenging for the Premier League title and maybe the Champions League crown, but with the transfer ban still a big issue for the Blues, a deal may not have happened anyway.
