Chelsea now free to complete transfer deal after Solskjaer announces target Gomes ‘is leaving United’
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Chelsea target Angel Gomes is yet to sign a contract extension and looks set to leave Manchester United.
Frank Lampard is trying to put together one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League and is looking to add to that talent when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
There was speculation in the media suggesting that Chelsea are interested in trying to steal Gomes away from Manchester United in the summer, as the 19-year-old is out of contract with the Red Devils ends today, when he will be free to leave for nothing.
Now it seems that Chelsea have been given the green light to try and complete a deal for the exciting Gomes, after Solskjaer opened up and confirmed that the young man will not be leaving the club when his contract is up.
When asked if Gomes would be leaving the club, Solskjaer responded: “I’ve not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree anything.
“The answer is probably short – yes.”
A move away may be a good idea, but but he shouldnt be greedy when he hasnt really done anything in the game. But it will be interesting to see just what happens in the coming transfer windows.
Chelsea only move for the best talents around and if they truly believe that Gomes will add something to the side in the coming seasons, then yes, they should get a deal done.
But as we said, it will be interesting to see just how this all plays out, as there is alot of interest in the young man from Chelsea and a number of clubs, so Gomes will have options in the coming transfer window.
