Chelsea close in on shock deal as Hart tells Man City ‘he needs summer move’ away from Etihad

Shock Chelsea target Joe Hart has admitted that he needs a permanent move away from Manchester City to save his career.

With current number one Thibaut Courtois all set to depart the Blues and head over to Real Madrid in deal worth £43 million, if you believe reports, the Blues have been eying up a shock move for the fomer England number one.

Recent reports across the media have claimed Chelsea rate the Englishman, despite his poor performances and his high-profile blunders for both club and country.

Maurizio Sarri is also said to be keen on a deal because of his relatively low fee, with City valuing him at just £5million.

And they have been given a massive boost after Hart admitted he needs a move away from the Etihad this summer.

“I need to go somewhere permanent, I think that’s obvious,” Hart said on the FourFourtwo website.

“I did what I did in the previous two seasons because I needed to play to be involved in the World Cup – and look where that got me.

“I’m experienced. I’ve played at the highest level for a long time and done a lot of things in the game. I need to be an important player at a club and I think that can only happen with a permanent move.”

Although City boss Pep Guardiola does not see a future for Hart at City, he was more than happy to praise the keeper after he played 45 minutes in a frindly defeat to Borussia Dortmund in Chicago.

He said: “”Despite the decision nobody can doubt Joe’s quality as a goalkeeper or what he has done in the last 10 to 12 years.”
