‘Just like Zidane’ Lampard sent massive Kai Havertz message ahead of possible £89 million Chelsea deal

Bayer Leverkusen assistant coach Marcel Daum has likened Kai Havertz to Zinedine Zidane amid speculation that Chelsea are interested in transfer deal.

The season is on hold right now, as the coronavirus is taking over the world, but that has not stopped all the speculation in the media about possible signings that Frank Lampard could make at the end of the season.

Lampard may have one of the most exciting and creative sides in the Premier League right now, but he will need to spend some money in the next couple of windows to improve the side in certain areas, especially with the likes of Willian and Pedro seemingly on their way out of the club.

That has led to the speculation in the media that Havertz, who is valued at around the £89 million mark, is now top of the shopping list of Chelsea boss Frank Lampard, who is reportedly a huge fan of the midfielder.

Now, amid the transfer speculation, Daum has opened up and compared the midfielder to one of the greatest players to ever grace the game, Zidane.

‘Everyone is asking about Kai Havertz. If you see him play it tells you everything’ the Leverkusen assistant told talkSPORT.

‘For me, he has the elegance of Zidane. If you see his movement, he’s very elegant, he’s always calm, he has great passing ability.

‘What a lot of people don’t see, because we watch him every day, is that he’s pretty fast. That’s a big bonus.

‘He’s a great player; he’s scoring goals, he’s great in the air and he’s pretty fast.

‘It’s up to him how far he can go. ‘I can’t say he will be the best German player ever, but he has the talent and there are no limits. He’s displaying signs of Zidane.’

Havertz is showing great potential and we are firm believers that a move to the Premier League would be the thing thing for the lad and his development, but if he can go on and be half as good as Zidane, we will see the rise of a superstar in the coming seasons.
