Chelsea in £325k-a-week transfer talks – Marecsa confirms he wants winger – Big star sent Premier League message

Here is the morning roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you may have missed from icfootballnews featuring Raheem Sterling, Enzo Maresca and Noni Madueke…

Raheem Sterling has been told he has no chance of moving to another Premier League club after Enzo Maresca said he had no future at Chelsea because his wages are simply far too high.

Italy’s Juventus and Turkey’s Fenerbahce have been linked with Sterling though it seems unlikely either would be able to pay his £300,000-a-week salary which currently makes him CHELSEA’s highest earner.

Aston Villa have reportedly been in talks with the Blues about a potential deal for the former Liverpool and Man City star but Sterling has been told he has no chance of moving to another Premier League club after Enzo Maresca said he had no future at Chelsea.

“Raheem Sterling’s future lies in Saudi Arabia,’ he said on the Three Up Front podcast via William Hill.

‘He’ll go there for two reasons, one of those being the kind of money he’ll get there. I don’t think any team in this country will match that.

‘I also don’t think any of the big Premier League teams would want to sign him, he’d price himself out of the market

‘The major problem for CHELSEA with this business model is that when they want to get players out the door, they have to take a real hit on their value.

‘They paid nearly £50million for Sterling and they’ll get next to nothing for him. Then the buying team will ask Chelsea to contribute to his wages.’

Look, if Villa wants to pay the money that Sterling is demanding and are willing to take on a player that has been so inconsistent over the past few seasons – then it will be a good move for the player

He would probably be a regular starter at Villa – and would work well with Unai Emery – but again – those high wages will surely be a problem.

MARESCA WANT MADEUEKE –

Blues boss Enzo Maresca has come out and revealed that he is keen to keep hold of Nono Madueke this summer – but has revealed that the winger could be sold before the cloee of the transfer window.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake are desperately trying to raise another £200m in the hope of avoiding a potential Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) penalty.

CHELSEA have spent just under £1.2billion in two-years and are under investigation for potential financial breaches during Roman Abramovich’s reign, and While the Blues have a knack for selling players for money than they’re worth – Mason Mount’s £60m move to Manchester United for example – they will have to offload far more this summer.

And one name that has been tipped to leave the club by the SUN is Noni Madueke – a player that relatively impressed during his time under Mauricio Pochettino last season and a player that played on a regular basis.

However – Maresca has opened up and claimed that he would like to keep hold of the winger: ‘I really like Noni, the only problem with him is he has to understand he needs consistency during the week in every training session,’ Maresca said in his post-match press conference.

‘But he is a good player and he is doing well with us since we started.’

Asked if he wants the winger to stay, Maresca added: ‘Yes, absolutely. But the problem is, the reality is that until the transfer window is not open, anything can happen. But for sure, Noni is the type of player that I like.’

Asked if he has spoken to Madueke about rising competition for places in the team, Maresca added: ‘Yes, we have so many games at the end that if it’s not today it will be the next one, if it’s not the next one, it will be the other one.

‘We have so many games. The important thing is for Noni, I like him, he’s doing well since he started [training with us] the only thing he has to improve is to become consistent every day, every day, every day and work hard and then he will get minutes for sure.’
