£45 million Morata on move! Chelsea in advanced talks to get striker deal signed and sealed

Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata in in advanced talks to sign for Atletico Madrid.

Morata is reportedly unhappy at Stamford Bridge and chose not to celebrate either of his goals in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on last week, as reports suggest he is seeking a way out of the Premier League.

He has only netted 8-goals for the club this season and his lack of finishing has led to speculation boss Maurizio Sarri is keen to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Italian is reportedly on verge of acquiring the services of Gonzal Higuain on a loan deal until the end of the season, meaning there ius no need to have Morata in the squad much longer.

And according to reports on the Sky Sports website, Chelsea would prefer a permanent deal to let Morata leave the club, with the club eager to recoup as much of their investment back as possible, after talks opened about a £45 million deal.

Do Chelsea need to offload Morata?

The Spanish star has not fulfilled the potential he had during his Real Madrid and Juventus years, he is a huge flop at Chelsea and offloading him would make space for an incoming striker.

Sarri is desperate to improve his front-line, and although they may not land a big named striker this month, getting rid of players that take up the wage bill would be a good move.

Morata also needs to leave for the sake of his career.
